Someone called me saying I had a PPI refund ready to go. I said alright, then he asked if I recalled the finance from 2003 to 2008. I said no, but he seemed to know all my info. Then suddenly he just hung up on me! Really don’t get why they bothered ringing.

They rang me saying they were from the UK Benefits Agency and that I qualify for a free boiler. I asked who they wanted but didn’t confirm the name when he used mine. When I asked where they got my number, he started laughing and said from the UK phone book. Since I’m ex-directory, I told him that was rubbish. He kept saying it, and I told him no way, asking again where the number came from. Then he said the international directory, to which I replied, “That’s nonsense.” I had a laugh and hung up.

They asked me how old my boiler is. I politely told them I don’t even know my own age, so how would I know the boiler’s? Then she said something about getting a free boiler. I joked back that I don’t even get free sweets from shops, so I suppose she got the hint and hung up. They rang twice in 5 minutes though, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I received a rather peculiar phone call from an individual with a rather thick accent, purporting to be from the “UK Benefits Office.” When I pressed for more details about which specific office he represented, he rather rudely told me to pipe down and abruptly hung up. Quite the unprofessional encounter, if you ask me!

I received a call from someone claiming to be Dave, representing the benefits office in the UK. The number traced back to Liverpool, yet his accent was anything but Scouse-I’ve got relatives there, so I know what to listen for. When I inquired if he was indeed from a government department, "Dave" abruptly hung up on me. The number was 01516014088.
