I've been getting nonstop calls from this firm about some PPI thing.

Today, at 11:45 in the morning on 10 June 2014, I got a call from 0151 559 1141. The guy on the phone used my name and claimed I'd overpaid on either a car finance deal or a home improvement loan back in 2012. He wanted my details so he could send me some paperwork about a refund. I told him straight I’ve never taken out a loan, never bought a car on finance, and definitely never done any home improvement loans. He then admitted it was probably someone else with the same name and number. Sounds like just another one of those cold call scams to me.

Several calls came through from this number, each time asking if I’d been in an accident. Definitely feels like a scam.

My daughter got a call from this number earlier, and the person on the line was asking her to verify a car loan account. Since she doesn’t even have a licence, she told them so. They immediately said sorry, guessed they’d called the wrong person, and then ended the call.

This number rang me earlier today. The guy claimed he was calling from some consumer support line and told me I’d paid too much on a loan sometime in the past few years and that he could sort it out for me. When I asked him which loan he meant and the timeframe, he said he couldn’t say because of data privacy rules. Felt a bit dodgy so I just hung up. Seems like one of those claims farming scams where they just cold call and hope you bite.

The number started with a Liverpool code, so I thought maybe it was someone from my family even though the rest of the digits didn’t look right. I picked up, waited a bit hearing nothing, then a robotic voice comes on saying "thanks for waiting, transferring you now to an agent..." I just ended the call there. Looks like it was one of those pesky sales calls I didn’t ask for.

This number just rang me up. The lady on the other end sounded like she was outside in a really windy place. When I asked who she worked for, she said something about a consumer help agency. I told her I've never taken out any loan or finance, so there's no way it's relevant to me. She said sorry and seemed to think there’d been some mix up. For the past few days, I've been getting calls from this 01618710849 number. I put it on my block list, but then a text popped up from 07971754136 offering some debt relief, and not long after, another call came from 01515591141. I've ignored all the calls so far, but it's really getting annoying since I’m getting 4 or 5 calls daily now! Honestly, I’m about to lose it; you can only block so many numbers before you want to chuck your phone across the room.

Got a call from this number earlier. The person on the line claimed to have my name and said they were checking if I was eligible for any refunds related to loans I've had since 2002. Thing is, I was only 13 back then, so it immediately seemed dodgy. They asked me to verify some personal info, but I politely declined and asked which company they represented. They said it was "Consumer Helpline", nothing more specific. Apparently, they collect numbers from all sorts of third-party sources. I just told them to take me off their calling list. Total scam if you ask me.

Got a call yesterday, they asked straight away for me by name. Said they were sending a pack to help me get back some PPI from an insurance policy I supposedly took out way back in 2002. Never had any PPI, so it felt a bit suspicious. Told the person on the other end that it sounded like one of those management firms who just want to take 30% of whatever they claim for you. They didn’t admit it though. Quite clearly a dodgy phishing call if you ask me. Watch out for these.
