The individual who rang me up was rather shrewd and quite crafty in attempting to elicit an alternative credit card number from me. He alleged that he was calling from QVC and seemed to possess a fair amount of information about my account-though it clearly fell short of what he needed for his schemes. Interestingly, I stumbled upon another reverse phone lookup where several others mentioned being told this number was linked to QVC, only for QVC to categorically deny any association. This incident traces back to 2013, and curiously, my call occurred just a couple of hours after another reported incident on December 8, 2015. When I mentioned that I would investigate the matter and might consider adding another card to my QVC account, he insisted that I reach out to him should I decide to proceed with that. However, both QVC and my credit card provider have not flagged any issues as the caller suggested. I can confidently assert that this interaction feels anything but secure.
