Over the lunch hour, I keep gettin calls from the same lady, probably middle-aged and sounds like she’s been smoking for years. It’s obvious it’s some kinda scam.

I just had a phone call from a woman of Asian descent, but honestly, I couldn’t make heads or tails of what she was saying.

I received a rather dubious call claiming to be from BT, insisting that “your internet has been made public”.

As a network consultant, I decided to have a bit of sport with them. They kept peddling their story about being affiliated with BT and even boasted a doctorate in Computer Science from Oxford.

To my astonishment, it took them quite a while to finally cut the call once I revealed my profession. At the very least, I managed to buy some time and keep them from targeting anyone else during our chat.

A caller purporting to represent BT Internet reached out, expressing concerns about a supposed security problem and insisted that they required access to our computer system to resolve the matter.

Got a call from what sounded like an Indian call centre saying they were from Microsoft. They said there were problems with the "main computer in my house" or something like that. I played dumb for about 15 minutes, acting like I had no clue about computers. Eventually, they transferred me to some “senior tech” person. After a while, I just lost interest and ended the call. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!

Somebody rang me saying they were from BT Openreach, saying there was an issue with my phone line. I told them my internet cable had been destroyed by monkeys, but they didn’t find it funny at all, so I just ended the call. Typical day living in Britain in the 21st century!

There was this call I got with loads of background chatter, sounded like a call centre. The lady on the other end spoke with a strong Asian accent which made it pretty hard to get what she was saying. She said she was phoning from B.T. about issues with my Internet. It just didn’t feel right, seemed dodgy to me. I told her my internet was working fine and then ended the call.

This number rang me up and when I picked up, some robotic voice blurted out stuff about Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs threatening legal steps against me. Just a heads up, HMRC would never send automated calls about these kinds of problems.

I just received an answerphone message saying that I was being sent a letter from the land revenue threatening legal steps. I ended the call straight away - definitely sounds like a scam to me.

I noticed a missed call from this Liverpool-based number and when I checked, there was a voicemail in Chinese. No clue what they were trying to say. Quite odd really.
