Got a call from this number claiming I owe nearly a grand for missing tax over the past few years or something like that. They pressured me, saying I could sort it out straight away or risk going to court. Then they offered three payment choices - using my employer’s card, a company card, or my personal one. I went with the third option but quickly felt something was off since they asked for my card info. I told them to just send me a letter instead. Pretty sure it’s a total scam.

I received a voicemail that seemed to be a recorded alert of some kind, though I didn’t stick around to catch the full details.

I got a random call on my phone, and some robo voice said there was a charge against me from the tax office. I thought it was nonsense, so I called back. A guy with a foreign accent picked up and said “HMRC, how can I help?” I asked why they’d called me, and he wanted my name. I refused. Then he went on about me getting ready to be arrested, even said my name (which I never gave), before just hanging up. What a nasty scam.

I received an unexpected call on my mobile, only to be greeted by a recorded message claiming that there was a charge filed against me by HM Revenue and Customs. Absolutely absurd! I decided to ring them back to confront their audacity. A gentleman with an accent answered, claiming to be from HMRC, and I inquired about the reason for their call. When he requested my name, I declined to provide it. To my shock, he ominously warned me to "prepare for arrest, Ms..." (using my name, which I'd never revealed) before abruptly hanging up.
