got an email asking me to ring a certain number about some user protection that supposedly had to be renewed or would get taken automatically. it all sounded quite legit at first. they had me going through things on my computer and before i knew it, i’d sent £800 via western union to someone in latvia. now the police are involved. be careful and never let these scammers control your pc!

I got an email saying my user protection cover was about to be charged at £299.90 and if I didn’t cancel it, the money would come out of my account. So, I rang the number they gave for cancellations and right away the person on the other end tried to get me to let them into my laptop and asked for my bank details. Total scam!
