Just got a ring from some bloke calling himself William Wilson. He said he needed me to log into my PC to sort out a broadband upgrade. Honestly, he seemed pretty genuine, but something felt off. I told him I was tied up with work and couldn't do it right away. Still, he kept pushing, saying it’d only take about ten minutes. I asked for a contact number to call him back, and he gave me this one. When I checked the last call by dialling 1471, the number was hidden. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

I had a sort of same thing happen to me. Some bloke claimed he was with BT Openreach and said he needed to adjust my router settings because work nearby had improved the service. He sounded pretty pushy and acted like it was urgent, asking how many gadgets I had on my Wi-Fi. I told him I wasn’t free to chat and asked for his contact number. He hesitated but then gave me 01515 287860. When I looked up the number he rang me from - 07570 805778 - I found out it’s flagged as a scam from India, with people trying to hack into computers. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Someone called pretending to be from BT ope, saying my internet would be cut off because of some bandwidth changes. I didn't feel right when they asked to get into my computer, so I told them I'd call back if they provided a contact number. They gave me this number. Both people I spoke with had strong accents and seemed really insistent. Definitely not planning to call them back or even pick up if they call again.

Had a very similar thing happen to me. I was told to ring this number to verify something about my broadband, supposedly from the "BT tech team," but I’m quite certain it wasn’t legit. Plus, the caller gave me a number starting with +44, which felt off. Watch out for this one!

Got a call early morning around 8:30 am, a guy claiming to be Daniel from BT Openreach was chatting to my wife about some upgrade and band stuff. When she asked for his phone number, he just went quiet and didn’t give it. The voice sounded like it was coming from abroad and had a really heavy Indian accent. Definitely felt a bit off.

Some guy with an Indian accent called me, said his name was John Smith and claimed to be with BT Openreach. He said there were faults showing up on my broadband. Apparently a new device had been fitted and my broadband had somehow been reset to channel 7, but my router only supports channels 5 and 6. He asked what lights were flashing on my router and what devices I was using. Then he told me to go to my laptop. I asked him how I could be sure he actually worked for Openreach, and he gave me a number to call back. I looked up that number here and it didn’t answer when I tried to ring it.

I got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent who said his name was William Wilson and claimed he was ringing from BT. He told me there was an issue with my broadband and wanted to offer an upgrade. When he asked for some personal info, I didn’t give him anything. Then he asked how many gadgets I had connected to my broadband, which caught me off guard. I told him I’d get back to him later. It felt like he was fishing for details about my tech, which made me quite uneasy.
