A woman rang me claiming I’d recently been involved in a car crash. I told her that wasn’t true and that these calls are really upsetting, preying on serious accidents to trick people into signing up or handing over cash. She said she wasn’t after money for herself but was supposedly trying to help the caller. I told her I found it hard to believe she or her firm weren’t making money from it. She snapped back, “Well, this isn’t charity, you know.” She was rude and totally out of touch. I started thinking about what might have happened if I’d said yes - likely some shady scam. I asked to be removed from their contact lists, and she argued before finally saying she’d better things to do than speak with me - funny, because she was wasting my time! These callers are disrespectful and it left me feeling vulnerable and quite upset.

Got a call from these lot trying to push me into making a claim for a rear end crash that was my fault. They kept on about my kids maybe getting hurt even though they didn’t even realise the crash happened till I got out the car. Neither car had any damage and they claimed to be an injury claims company. Later, I looked them up and found out they’re actually Echelon Marketing Ltd based in Bootle.

Had another one of those car crash scam calls today. They claimed there was proof I’d been in an accident. Don’t fall for it, they’re all a load of rubbish. Best thing to do is just swear a bit and slam the phone down!

This number rang my mobile a couple of times in just one week. The first call ended as soon as I answered, it disconnected straight away. Then the second time, the caller actually spoke and correctly said my name, asking if I’d been in a car accident and mentioning some sort of claim. I told them yes, my name is right, but no, I hadn't been involved in any accident or made any claims. I also asked how they knew my name so accurately yet got the accident info wrong. Right after I asked, there was a pause for about 5 seconds and then they just hung up.

This number has rung me up twice already this week. The first time, I missed the call at 11:58 in the morning, then today at 2:32 in the afternoon I picked up. When I answered, there was loads of noise in the background and the person on the other end was breathing really hard down the line! Some might find that creepy or worrying, but I'm sure the caller doesn't even realise how it comes across. If you know how to block numbers, I’d recommend you go ahead and block this one right away.
