Today, I received a rather peculiar phone call from a lady purporting to represent an agency named Road Accident Helpline. She began probing me about a supposed car accident I was involved in some years back. The thing is, I’ve never been in any such incident! Realising it was probably a scam, I politely yet firmly wrapped up the chat and hung up. It was clear as day - she was just trying to pull a fast one!

Just saw I had a missed call from this number.

I got a call and when I asked who was on the line, the person just said no thanks and ended the call straight away. They wanted to talk to me but wouldn’t say who it was. Quite odd!

Got a call from someone who didn’t seem to talk English. When I asked if they could switch to English, they just ended the call straightaway. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

The person on the line was so impolite when I asked them to say their name again. Definitely sounded like a scam.

Got a call from some so-called accident helpline, and they got proper rude when I told them to stop ringing me and to take my number off their list. The call showed up with a London number, but it was definitely coming from an Indian call centre.
