Received a call claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, suggesting I could upgrade my phone contract early. The odd thing is, I don’t even have a contract with them! The caller mentioned they would handle everything with 3, promising that my payments would drop. When I mentioned I’d contact 3 directly first, he offered to have their customer service ring me instead. I declined, insisting I’d prefer the official 3 number. At that point, he seemed to get a bit aggressive. I proposed he ring me back in five minutes. I then rang 3 and they categorically denied any arrangements with Carphone Warehouse regarding early contract upgrades. When the caller did return, I relayed this information, and he went on to state that the upgrades team at 3 were clueless about any such offer from Carphone Warehouse. He assured me there would be no upfront fees or costs. However, in the very next breath, he requested a £36 “security deposit.” I couldn’t help but laugh and promptly hung up.

i’m totally over these scam calls blowing up my phone every single day. it’s obvious they’re not legit, yet no one seems to take real action to stop them. i’ve got mental health struggles and this constant harassment just makes everything worse for me, and i reckon a lot of others feel the same. these fraudsters really should be caught and punished, and not mildly either - they need to be dealt with severely.

Got a call where the person claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse, pushing SIM card deals and stuff. Told them I’m already tied up with Fleur on a contract, so no thanks. I received a rather peculiar phone call the other day. The caller inquired whether I had fishnet tights on and went on to propose purchasing my pre-owned knickers. This, surprisingly, didn't turn out to be a scam, as I've ended up selling him seven pairs! I picked up the phone, only to be met with a garbled response before the bloke abruptly ended the call.
