A classic case of phone fraud, if you ask me! They ring you up pretending to be from Amazon, fishing for all sorts of personal details. It's utterly shocking how they manage to extract such sensitive info before making off with your hard-earned cash! I find it deeply unsettling that individuals resort to such dishonest means to earn a living.

My landline rang with an automated alert saying I should call my bank about a supposed £500 payment to some company or person I hadn't okayed. Since I didn't recognise it, I used my mobile to ring up my bank and they told me no such transaction had happened and it was a scam. Quite relieved but also a bit annoyed at the hassle!
