It’s all a scam, honestly. I just told them to buzz off.

He had a thick Southeast Asian accent and a really dodgy English name. Kept going on about how he could boost my computer’s speed. When I told him I didn’t believe him, he just laughed it off and started rambling about my internet being slow due to overloaded broadband and how he could fix it. Definitely sounded like a scam, so I cut him off before he could finish his whole spiel.

Got a call much like the one mentioned here, some bloke trying to fix my computer. Didn’t hesitate to tell him to shove off pretty firmly. I’m registered on the do not call list too, so it’s clearly a dodgy scam.

Got a call about computer help at 12:37 on 13/02/2015 out of the blue. I’m on the Telephone Preference Service, so I didn't expect to get any random calls. They were trying to sell some tech support, which sounded totally fake to me - I only use Macs, so I don’t really need anyone else messing about with my setup. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call saying they needed to fix something on our computer. My husband was like, how do you even know we own one? They said it was logged under my name or something. Ended up just hanging up on them.

This guy said his name was Jack Robinson, spoke with an Asian accent, and claimed he worked for something called DEC helpline. He promised to fix all my computer issues, but I told him I’d report him and just ended the call.

Some bloke called, kept telling me to hit ctrl and R on my laptop. Got a bad feeling and realised it was a total scam. When he kept pushing, I just told him to sod off and find another victim.

I recently had a call on my computer, and when I explained that we were affiliated with a certain company, the caller abruptly hung up on me. It definitely felt like a spammer trying their luck.

Just a moment ago, this number rang us. An individual with an Asian accent claimed to be from a debt collection agency.

It’s probably just another dodgy number from India, likely spoofed.
