Got a phone call and they said who they were, not like the usual random ones. Asked about an accident I had, was a bit suspicious but ended up sharing the details anyway. Turns out they were genuine!! I got £2300 compensation. Gotta say, I’m well pleased!

I had a bad experience with them too, got rear-ended by some idiot boy racer in Bradford last year. It went through the M.I.B and they couldn't trace the person. My insurer back then, Aviva, couldn't help since the police never got a number plate. It was a clear hit and run. I just wanted to see if I could get back the excess I lost, but ended up with £1600 for some minor aches, even though I was wearing my seatbelt. I reckon sometimes we lump some decent independents in with all the ambulance chasers, but honestly, they’re not the same.

So these guys claim to be from the Travel Advisory Bureau and kept ringing me up about a holiday I've never booked. The calls kept coming from 0151 375 9628 and sometimes 9706, but they'd just hang up without saying anything. I decided to call back the 9628 number but from a withheld line. They said they were looking for someone called Darren James, so obviously I’m not the person they want. But here’s the weird bit - they didn’t have my number since I was calling privately, so how did they know which number I was using? Something feels off about the whole situation...

Got a call from a bloke called Phil, sounded like he was from Liverpool, asking about a claim from a car crash at my house, even gave my full address. I haven’t had any accidents or claims. Just another dodgy cold call trying to catch you out.

This number keeps ringing me and I’m pretty sure it’s one of those annoying callers. They keep talking about some accident I supposedly had and an injury that never happened. Honestly, they act like they know more about it than me! I’ve let five calls go to voicemail over the past couple of days and they’re still persistent. Tried blocking the number but no luck so far. Got a call earlier, and honestly, the person was quite rude and pushy. They kept going on about some kind of money set aside for me, which made no sense at all. It felt like a lot of social engineering tactics to try and get info out of me. When I asked for their contact details so I could ring them back, they said they’d just get all the information from me directly - as if that’s the whole point of the call anyway! I told them I wanted their details first, but they just said fine, they’d remove me from their database. Then when I asked which insurers they were linked with, they named QuoteMeHappy - which is actually my insurer already. Seems like QuoteMeHappy must have sold my details, which probably explains why their insurance is so cheap - they make money by selling your info.

I got a call asking for my daughter, but I told them she wasn’t here and asked if I could take a message. They then started talking about some claim for car damage, which seemed odd since they shouldn’t be sharing those details with me. She’s only had the car for a short time and doesn’t even have her driving license yet, so I told them to stop wasting their time and ended the call. After that, the same number kept ringing me over and over until I finally had to block it.

I got a call from someone who tried really hard to convince me there was a cheque ready for me, even though I wasn’t hurt at all. It just felt off, so I ended up hanging up because it was all a bit too convincing and he kept asking loads of private info, like my address, car number plate, and date of birth. Every time I answered, he’d go on about how it matched their records perfectly - like “That’s right, thank you!” - which just made me more suspicious.

I recently got into another accident, and out of the blue, I was contacted about a payout. But then they wanted me to confirm if the accident even happened.
