When I picked up, there was silence at first, then a bloke asked for my name and said he wasn’t trying to sell me anything. After that, he began saying I was owed cash by some third-party driver. I asked what on earth he meant, and he claimed I’d reported a “ding” to my car insurance. I told him he was talking rubbish and to stop calling. Blocked the number straight away!

Most recent one was this wild story about a skiing crash where they said they lost their head and now they’re stuck in a glass jar. Someone called me asking to verify a car accident I supposedly had. I calmly told them their info was wrong and to take my number off their list. They then said I should be taken off the National Insurance database because my insurance supposedly reported the accident. The caller then got rude and started accusing me of lying. I ended the call and blocked them. This kind of behaviour could be harmful, especially for more vulnerable folks.

Got a missed call from one of these numbers, called back and ended up in some automated system, looked like a pricey premium line. Really don’t bother calling back. They only get away with it cause the law lets them, it should definitely be illegal to set up a premium hotline and ring a bunch of people, then rake in cash when they ring back just to see who called. I’m just one of loads that have been scammed out of time and money, never getting it back. Wish there was a way to track down which company’s behind this.

Had a car crash sometime in the last couple of years, right? When I was asked about what kind of car it was and how badly I was hurt, nobody seemed to have a clue and couldn’t give me an answer.
