This number has been ringing my mobile nearly every day for the past few weeks. Yesterday, I finally picked up, and there was a woman speaking English on the other end, but it was so noisy in the background that I could barely make out what she was saying. I only caught my name amongst all the racket.

I've blocked this number on my mobile, yet they still seem to have my landline as well, and I'm very curious about why. My phone doesn't ring anymore, but I'm still receiving messages. To deter some of the nuisances, I've taken to blowing a whistle into the receiver of my home phone-quite the effective tactic! Whenever they do call, it’s always foreign accents, and they never seem to be the ones to initiate the greeting. Typically, they just listen before promptly hanging up. Quite the irritation, really!
