I decided to ring back this number only to be met with a distinctly American robotic voice insisting, "Your call is crucial, please remain on hold for the next available representative." After enduring six long minutes of this monotonous hold music, I suddenly heard, "Goodbye," and just like that, the call was terminated. Received a rather dodgy call claiming to be from the Bureau of British Insurers, asserting that I was involved in a car accident. Utter nonsense, if you ask me! When I pressed them about the Freedom of Information Act, they promptly hung up-very suspicious indeed. I suspect this might be some unscrupulous solicitor trying to cash in on accidents. Pure scam call. Spent a good ten minutes messing about, gave him rubbish info and acted daft like I was falling for his nonsense. Then I had a right chuckle and told him to find a real job. Got a call from this number today, but I don’t do business with anyone from Liverpool so just let it ring out and then blocked it. Lately I’ve been getting annoying calls from folks claiming “we’re aware you’ve been in a car crash.” I told a woman with a strong Liverpool accent it was ages ago, like in 1995, and she got really shouty, telling me off for being rude!

Somebody called asking if I’d had a car crash recently, like in the last couple years. I said I’d sort it out with my insurance company. She just dropped it after that.

So, some woman called saying she was Carol from the Direct Response legal team. She asked if I’d been in any accidents over the last two and a half years, which I hadn’t. I told her I’d need to look up what Direct Response was before sharing anything else. Then, she just ended the call.
