Got a couple of missed calls from this number but no voicemail or anything. I checked with Carphone Warehouse on Twitter, asking if it was a scam and gave them the number. They replied saying its their outbound call centre. They also suggested I call their sales team on 0800 049 6250 if I want to be sure. Looks genuine, just a bit irritating.

Received a call claiming it was from Carphone Warehouse about an order I never placed online. They somehow had my bank details and name, plus they knew exactly which phone I supposedly wanted. Got a call claiming it was from Carphone Warehouse's main office saying I could get a better deal on an upgrade by sorting it out over the phone rather than in store. I told them I wasn’t interested in upgrading. They kept pushing, saying “Are you not keen on saving some cash?” When I mentioned I wasn’t a Carphone Warehouse customer, they insisted I was and argued that my last contract was with them. I told them again it wasn’t, but they wouldn’t drop it, so I just ended the call.

Someone called saying they were from Car Phone Warehouse wanting to help me upgrade. I told them I’d visit the shop when I was ready, but they said I wouldn’t get a good deal there. They asked me some security questions, which I didn’t want to answer as I wasn’t completely sure who was on the line. Then they told me to stop being silly, saying it was definitely them and tried to rush me into changing my contract straight away. The caller was way too forceful and ended up quite rude. Got a call from this number saying I was eligible for a discounted upgrade or an early replacement on my phone. They assured me they'd send the handset over to my nearest store so I could check it out first, and if I didn't want it, the shop would simply return it. But the catch was, I ended up being signed up for an upgrade without me even agreeing to it. I had to contact customer support straight away to cancel the contract and have formally complained about the whole thing. The local shop were pretty annoyed too since they hadn’t been told anything. BEWARE - avoid talking to this number altogether!
