I finally picked up the phone when this number reached out to me this afternoon after I had ignored it multiple times. Turns out it was just a rather pushy insurance agent trying to peddle an extended warranty for my domestic appliances. Right from the get-go, I was on high alert and made sure he understood my scepticism. His response was quite telling-he became noticeably anxious and didn't push too hard once I turned him down. After the call, I did a bit of digging into the number and discovered it has raised a few red flags elsewhere. So, here I am, felt it was only right to share my experience. Honestly, it seems like this chap might just be up to no good.

Got a call from them just now, no voicemail or anything left. Total con artists, absolute rubbish. They were ringing me loads last year as well. I kept telling them I’d sort out the direct debit with my bank, even though it wasn’t even set up - obviously I wasn’t planning on doing that. That seemed to throw them off a bit. Nowadays, I just ignore whenever they ring.

The bloke claimed to be from Appliance, my boiler insurance or something. When I said he was wrong, he quickly changed tack and said it was actually about my water pipes. I told him to only ring back once he was sure what exactly I had insured!

It’s about time the OCI pulled their finger out and delivered on their promises - the likelihood of that happening is probably as slim as hitting the jackpot on the lottery!

My landlines have been getting calls from these lot once more. Claim they’re appliance insurance reps or something. Their first call was back in November last year, but I just kept hanging up. Now they’re ringing me multiple times each day and since I’m working, there could be even more random calls I’m missing. One time, they even asked me to ‘verify my bank info’ during a call. Definitely watch out for these chaps!

Got a call from these guys today, they kept ringing non stop until I picked up. They said they were from some appliance company and were trying to push me an insurance package for my fridge, washer, cooker and freezer all together. They even threw out some password, claimed it was mine or something. When I told them my stuff was covered by different firms already, they started saying they could beat my current deal. Then they tried to find out which company I use but I just refused to say and told them I was done with the call.

Got a ring from 0151 303 5762 claiming to be "THE APPLIANCE TEAM" - right, sure! They asked if I wanted to continue a Direct Debit for my (non-existent) SONY telly, supposedly active for 4 years at £9.99 a month. I asked for a contact number to check their story, and they gave me 0151 647 6624, which actually belongs to William Shawcross Hand Engravers. When I called back with 1471, the real number showed up - a classic spoof job. Watch out, it's definitely a scam!

Someone called claiming to be from Home Appliance Group, saying they were insuring my cooker, fridge, and washing machine. They asked for my name and bank sort code, and then wanted my account number to 'verify' their info. When I asked for theirs so I could check, they refused. They also gave a helpline number as 0800 810 1100. I ended the call because it felt really dodgy, especially since we already had manufacturer’s insurance on the washing machine. I also looked it up afterwards and it seems this company isn't even trading anymore.

I got a call from 01513035763 earlier, some bloke asking for a woman by name. I said nah, I’m a bloke, and he just lost it, called me a load of rubbish and then slammed the phone down. Honestly, never had anything so rude from a cold call before. Seriously, if someone rings or messages out of the blue, don’t trust ’em or give anything away. Best thing is to ring the proper company yourself to check if you’re unsure. Straight from the source, safest way.
