Got a call from Virgin Media saying there’s an issue with my internet. They asked how many lights were blinking on my router and what colour they were. I refused to share any personal details. Said I’d check my account myself online. Then they said if I don’t cooperate they’d cut my service off. Fine by me, it’s way overpriced anyway. Asked them how much they're paying, they didn’t answer. Didn’t give them a single bit of info. Felt good knowing I might’ve saved someone else from getting scammed for a few minutes!

I received a call from a contact centre agent with an Asian accent, claiming that our home broadband connection had been 'compromised' and insisting they were our service provider. They urged me to download 'AnyDesk Remote' onto my laptop, suggesting that sharing information through AnyDesk would assist in diagnosing the issue. It's evident to me that providing any details would jeopardise our home network’s security. When we requested proper verification of their identity, the line went dead. Our broadband provider has informed us that they are looking into this, and that the number from which the call originated is indeed a scam. Exercise caution!

This number has rung us three times in under a day, includin’ an early call at 8am this mornin’. Me and my missus, both in our 80s, really don’t appreciate bein’ hassled with their fibs so early. I received a rather dubious call from someone claiming to be associated with Virgin Media. He mentioned that they had identified some international users tapping into my router. The man were keen to ascertain what devices I had connected and wanted me to fetch my mobile for some reason. Before we could delve deeper into the conversation, I asked him for his contact number, which he provided as 02079092100 (is this indeed linked to Virgin Media?). When I probed for his name, he said it was Alex Foster calling from London. Curiously, I challenged him with my IP address-since he appeared to have extensive knowledge of my router-after which he became increasingly agitated and hung up. It’s a shame he wasn’t aware that our setup involves a BT router and broadband account! I can only conclude that this was a con artist trying their luck.

I received a call earlier from someone claiming they represented my internet service provider. They mentioned some supposed issues with my connection over the past few days and even quizzed me about how many lights were blinking on my router. I decided to cut the conversation short and told him I was terminating the call. Since then, I haven’t received any follow-up calls; that was around 1:30 PM on 7th December 2021.

Got a call from 01512450960 bright and early at 7.50am on a Saturday, which was totally unexpected! No voicemail left. When I called them back, it was just one of those pre-recorded messages about market research. They've called me a few times lately now. Next time I'll make sure I actually have a chat with whoever it is!

This morning, just before eight, I received a rather unwelcome call from someone claiming to be with Virgin Media. They mentioned that there was an issue with my WiFi security. I made it clear that I wasn't too keen on receiving such calls at that hour, to which he responded that he’d get in touch again later today at one. He insisted I switch on my computer to follow some sort of instructions he had. Rest assured, should he attempt to ring back, I won’t be picking up! It’s clearly a dodgy scam if ever I’ve heard one!

I got a call from this number on my job phone. The person had an Indian accent which made me think it was probably a scam right away. She claimed to be from Virgin Media but hung up straight away when I said I don’t use Virgin. When I dialled the number back, there was a pre-recorded message saying it was about some survey and I didn’t need to do anything about the call.
