I got a call from this number on 26th May 2011. When I tried ringing back, it just said the number wasn't valid. Bit strange, cos it rang while I was already on the phone with another NHS contact about a doctor's appointment. Fairly frustrating they phoned from the NHS but left no voicemail, so now I’ve no clue if it was something urgent or not.

This 100% comes from NHS Wirral Community Trust, so it could be St Caths, VCH or Eastham. The problem is that calls from any of these places go through a central switchboard, so you can't really tell which department is ringing. I know because I work on the switchboard, and even I couldn't track the call based on just the number. There was only one department I was waiting to hear from, and their direct number was on a letter I got. So if you’re dealing with anyone from St Caths, VCH or Eastham, check your letters and ring the number listed there.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Dennis at HMRC, said it was really urgent I call back. The message was all pre-recorded, warning about some legal action if I didn't ring them right away, and told me to get my solicitor to contact them. I've blocked the number now. I've been receiving as many as ten calls each day, including annoyingly early in the morning at around half seven! All I get on the other end is a lot of beeping.
