Got called by 01509 323418 about 4 times within half an hour. Picked up the last call but it just cut off straight away. When I tried ringing back, all I could hear was a weird noise like a fax machine. Really strange.

Somebody pretending to be from the tax office, total rip-off.

Got a message on my phone from a woman with a US accent saying she was from HMRC. It was a recorded voice, so I just listened to it but didn't answer or anything. She kept saying I had to ring them back asap, and that if neither me or my lawyer got in touch, there would be serious trouble. Sounds like a load of nonsense to me, but I'm gonna report it just in case.

Dont bother replying, these are total frauds pretending to be official. I kept ringing them back using a VOIP number just to mess with them, ended up getting told to feck off plus some rude names before they finally blocked me. They arent from HMRC or NRSA or anything legit, all their calls came from Loughborough area codes.

Oh great, Inland Revenue ringing me up asking for my info all over again. Did I just forget everything in a flash? Nope, I already gave them my emergency contacts to reach me later. Felt like it was some local Jehovah’s Witness hotline or something!

My phone rang and when I picked up, nobody said a word before they just ended the call. Not long after, I received a random text from Domino's Pizza advertising some offer. Definitely seemed like a phishing attempt to me.

Got a call from someone doing an American accent, left a message and I called back. When I asked for his name and which department he was from, he just said his ref was "goodday". Feels like a complete scam. What’s scary is he actually knew my name and postcode. I’m definitely going to report this to the police.

I just got a call from this number and it sounded like an automated thing. I said "hello" but no one replied, there was just silence for a bit, then I heard a robotic "goodbye" before it disconnected. Strange one.

Got a call on my mobile, missed it and rang back. The person picked up straight away and claimed to be from HMRC. I was suspicious right away. When they asked for my phone number, I said no. Then they mentioned my name, but when I requested their HMRC reference, they couldn’t provide one. They insisted on my postcode and even started asking about my partner, chuckling the whole time. I told them it was a scam and they laughed saying I was reporting the number. I just ended the call after that.

I got calls a few days ago from numbers like 020 3573 1322, then 020 7097 1671, and today even from 01509 323 418. Each time it was the same pre-recorded message with an American accent. I tried ringing back using a different phone (not my own mobile) and ended up speaking to the exact same guy. He asked what number I was calling from, which I didn't want to share. After I told him I knew it was a scam and that I'd be reporting his numbers to the police, he turned rude and started calling me a comedian! Such a dodgy operation.

Just got calls from 02035751322 and 02070971671 - looks like the same old scam again. Seriously, do they really think we’re that daft? Could they at least try a better story, like the national lottery or something a bit more believable? Also, maybe hire someone who actually speaks proper English for once. And by the way, who is this Jennifer Brown they keep mentioning? Total mystery!

Got a voicemail from a cheerful woman, sounded American, claiming to be from HMRC. She warned about serious legal trouble if I didn’t ring back. Looks like trouble’s heading my way. I’ve sent a report to: [email protected]

Received an automated voicemail from a certain Jennifer Brown representing the HMRC, requesting that I return the call urgently on 01509323418. Being aware this was likely a scam, I returned the call and found myself speaking to what sounded like a group of Indian men. When I inquired about their names and the identity of this Jennifer Brown, they abruptly hung up on me. Quite telling, isn’t it?

Aren't they meant to be the Inland Revenue? Since when did they swap the usual brown window envelopes for making personal phone calls? Bit odd if you ask me.
