I got a call from someone who claimed to be from ‘First Rankings’ or something like that. He kept going on about stuff I wasn’t interested in, even after I very politely told him to stop. The bloke said his name was John, though he definitely didn’t sound like he was from around here. I told him I was actually the Queen of Sheba, put the phone down, and then blocked the number. Seriously, these spam callers never learn!

Got a call from a number with the 01507 code, which is meant to be Louth. They said they were from a firm called "First Rankings". I’m familiar with that part and never heard of any business by that name there. When I asked them about it, they suddenly said they were actually from Luton. Odd behaviour!

This person called claiming they could cut down my phone charges. They double-checked my name and number, but totally messed up my address. Even when I told them my calls are already free, they kept pushing. They kept saying it was a BT line and I’d get discounts because it was an old BT number from ages ago. I told them it was a load of rubbish and that they clearly had no clue - the line isn’t BT and never has been.

I noticed a transaction labelled SPARTA TELECOM on my bank statement. When I reached out to an HSBC staff member, they assured me the company seemed above board and provided a contact number - 0800 9159396. I spoke to someone named David, whose accent suggested he was from India, and he claimed to be with the accounts department at SPARTA TELECOM. He mentioned a single payment to RELIABLE REPAIR, which would appear as SPARTA TELECOM on my statement. He also indicated that I could request a refund if I wished. Interestingly, the number that popped up on my caller ID was 020 37730859, but he had previously left a voicemail from 01507665766. After looking into the numbers, they all raised red flags as potential scammers.

This one totally screamed scam to me. The guy had a strong foreign accent, kept going on and on like we were old mates, got really dodgy when I asked what the call was about, and then just cut me off out of the blue. Absolutely classic scam behaviour.

Got a call from this number claiming to be with a telecommunications company from Louth linked to BT Openreach. The guy was quite courteous, but I didn't ask for the call. I usually look up good telecom offers myself when I need them, not have random cold calls like this.

She then asked how old it was, so I said about 48 years. She hung up straight away after that.

Hello everyone! Just a heads up-there’s a dodgy character using this phone number! It’s an appliance fraudster who tried to fish for my banking information. They claimed to be renewing our home appliance insurance and even threw in a supposed 20% discount. Stay vigilant!
