On 4th Sept, I got a call from an Asian woman claiming she was with some claims advisor company. She said we were owed a bank refund of £2,000 and that a cheque had already been made out. They said they'd ring back soon. The reason given was that we had been charged too much interest and some kind of commission or telemarketing fees (spelt wrong even!). I thought this sounded dodgy, especially since she was talking to my elderly mum. Then I took over and had a word. Definitely think it was a scam.

I didn’t give them any real info, made up my DOB and bank name. They said someone else would ring me back soon. They even asked if I’m on my feet and got a mobile, so I reckon they’ll try to get me to visit my bank or something dodgy like that. Let’s see what nonsense they come up with next.

Some bloke called claiming to be Tony from UK Claims Advisory. When I asked what he wanted, he said I was owed money for bank charges. I asked if he was with a UK company, he obviously said yes. Then I asked where he was calling from and he said Manchester. I told him I never heard that before, so he must’ve thought I knew he was dodgy. He then told me to “go away” but the call cut off before he could finish. Proper scammers, the lot of them.
