I received a rather peculiar call today, dated the 15th of July, 2019. It was an automated voice purporting to be from BT, claiming that our internet connection was inoperative. Quite odd, I thought, especially as I was online on my computer at that very moment. Concerned, I decided to ring BT myself, only to discover they were oblivious to such a situation. It struck me as a likely scam. To add to the confusion, the initial five digits mirrored our own telephone area code, leading me to entertain the thought it might've been my daughter trying to reach me. Rather frustrating, to say the least!
