I got a call on our landline a while back, pretty much like what the person who commented on 02/02/2020 said. When I answered, there was a brief pause and then a recorded voice said something like "Hi, this is Matthew returning your call about the government's loft insulation programme." I just hung up straight away. Out of curiosity, I tried calling the number back but it didn’t show up on my phone, so it seems like they’re using fake numbers to trick people.

Got a call two days in a row from what sounded like a believable source at first, but it was actually just a recorded message. They claimed it was about a government loan for insulating your loft or fixing lagging. The number showed up as a local one, which made it seem legit. Proper annoying!
