She kept asking for me using my name, but when I tried to find out who she was, she just hung up straight away after I asked twice.Susanne7 yearsHe told me I’d got all my PPI money back, but the moment I tried to find out which bank it was from, he just cut me off!7 yearsGot called out of the blue by some British financial firm, three times no less, claiming I’m due £2500 from some late PPI settlement. They said if I want to cash the cheque, my bank will hit me with a £55 fee unless I provide a life insurance policy less than 6 months old - then supposedly the fee gets waived. Then they said they’d connect me with an advisor who’d sell me a life policy I could cancel after I got the cheque, and gave me tips on what to say to avoid mentioning the bank fee bit! The advisor went through all the questions the first caller mentioned. I told them I wasn’t ready to decide right there and asked for details sent by text instead. Haven’t had the text yet, but I’m sure I’ll think about it once the cheque shows up... or maybe not!7 yearsIt seems like they’re always switching up the numbers they call from.7 yearsJust got a phone call from someone claiming to be from the British finance dept (didn’t even think that was real). The bloke had an Indian accent (don’t know why, but not calling him a gentleman). He asked straight up for me by name. I always say “that depends who’s asking” when that happens.
