I don’t usually pick up calls from numbers I don’t know but this one showed as Huntingdon so I thought it might be someone I know from there. Turned out it wasn’t! The guy sounded like he had an Indian accent (whereas my contact speaks with a British accent) and asked if he was speaking to #my name#. I said yes and asked what the call was about. He said how I was, but when I asked again why he was calling, he said “a short service”. I was about to ask what that meant but then he just hung up. Guess he meant to say “survey” but his English wasn’t great.

I received a call from someone inquiring whether I was the individual associated with this number, using my previous name prior to getting married. I responded ambiguously, and the caller mentioned needing to pose three questions. Curiously, when I pressed for their identity, they stated they were from "Isle of my office." A bit perplexed, I inquired about their organisation, and abruptly, the line went dead! I've come across warnings about potential scams where callers attempt to extract a 'yes' from you, ostensibly recording your voice to rope you into something suspicious. As a result, I've become rather cautious in my dealings with unknown callers. Best to stay alert and not divulge any personal information to these dubious individuals!

I didnt answer so it went straight to voicemail. When I listened to it I had a good laugh. The bloke knew my name and asked if he was talking to Mr XXXX, then just kept saying hello over and over. Seems like a smart guy but still doesnt get how voicemail works. I’ve reported it as harassing after seeing other comments saying the same.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent asking for Mrs followed by my last name. I told her I’m actually Miss. She mentioned an address where I used to live with my parents more than 10 years ago. She clearly thought I was my mum, but I have no clue how they managed to find my mobile from such old info? She said it was a survey about mobile phone providers. I told her I’d report her since she already had private details like my old address, then she just hung up. I’ve blocked the number now.

I received a rather curt call from this number, where a rather unpleasant woman demanded that I verify my name. Oddly enough, she was already aware of it! When I inquired about who was on the line, she flatly refused to disclose that information before abruptly ending the call. Quite the bizarre experience, I must say!

After I clarified that they had dialled incorrectly, the caller suddenly turned the conversation towards a survey and started firing questions at me. Strange phone call I had! The caller quizzed me on whether I read a newspaper on a regular basis, what age bracket I'm in, and if I've ever had a bank account or taken out a loan or credit card.
