I got a call from someone claiming to be from the TPS, telling me they could help me block unwanted calls if I upgraded some service. Then they started asking if I pay my bills through direct debit and wanted the expiry date on my card. I asked why they needed that information and requested a number to call back for verification. The person got annoyed, saying they weren’t after all my card details. I insisted on a contact number again, and then they just hung up on me.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who claimed she was ringing about the TPS, saying she wanted to help block annoying calls. I told her I’m already registered with TPS and asked her how she planned to stop the calls if that’s exactly what TPS is for. She just cut me off straight away, pretty funny actually! 😂

I just got a call from an Indian woman saying she was from TPS. She got my name right, except for the title, and even knew my address. After a load of rubbish, she started asking for my card expiry date. I’m a NW coordinator, so I’ll be warning others about this scam and reporting it to the phone company as well. Honestly, it should be banned like cold calls for double glazing were. This kind of thing can seriously harm older or vulnerable people!

It’s clear they’ve got hold of info somehow because I signed up for TPS ages ago and it’s free anyway! This number wasn’t the same as the one I’d already blocked. Well, that one’s blocked too now!

Got a dodgy call claiming to be from TPS. A woman rang me first, asking me to verify my name and address. She said it was from TPS, then handed me to a bloke who said he was from their accounts team. He wanted me to confirm info from my visa card or something. They then claimed my number was blocked for spam calls. I decided to look up the number and found loads of folks getting the same call. I told them my husband dealt with these things and as he wasn’t around, they just hung up. I’m expecting them to ring back but if my husband deals with it, I doubt they’ll bother again. Just a heads up, this is definitely a scam!

Got a call from this number earlier, some bloke with an Asian accent asking if I was having trouble with nuisance calls. When I gave him my details, he quickly realised he had the wrong person. He then asked how I paid my phone bill - I fibbed and said by cheque. He wanted to know if I had my TPS membership number to hand, but I said I couldn't recall it.
