Got a phone call from someone claiming to be BT broadband, sounded like one of those scam calls.

Received a telephone call from a woman with an Asian accent who claimed that hackers were carrying out cyber crimes using my broadband connection. She requested that I access a device with an internet connection so she could guide me through the process of fixing the issue. Not feeling at ease with her proposal, I politely declined and informed her about my plan to contact BT directly. While she insisted that she could authenticate her affiliation with BT, I preferred the option of personally calling them. Subsequently, the lady abruptly ended the call.

This morning, I got a phone call from a bloke with an Indian accent, telling me there was an alert about someone trying to mess with my internet. He asked what sort of gadgets I had hooked up to my Wi-Fi - like computers or laptops. After that, he said he’d connect me to a senior tech expert to sort out the 'hackers'. I just ended the call right away.

I have been receiving calls from this particular number every other day for more than a week. However, I have ceased answering these calls because they claim to be from [insert company name], expressing concerns about someone hacking my internet connection.

Got a call from some Asian bloke claiming to be from BT, saying my computer was hacked. They had no clue if I even owned a computer or a tablet. When I told them I'd phone BT to check, they messed up and admitted BT never ring up about scams. Watch out for this one, dodgy lot!

Somebody with an Asian accent called me saying they were from BT and asked if I had broadband. They messed up right away though. I called BT straight away and told them about the number. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

Got a call from someone with a thick Asian accent claiming to be from B.T. down in London, but it was the wrong firm. I asked them what time it was there and how the weather was, just to see what they'd say. They couldn't answer and ended up hanging up. Total fail.

It was clear that the person speaking had a strong Asian accent and was reciting from a script. They claimed to be from B.T. in London, even though they were from a different company altogether. According to them, I had an issue with my internet. To verify their location, I asked about the local time and weather conditions, but they couldn't provide accurate information. Frustrated by their inability to answer simple questions, I ended the call myself.

Be cautious! This is a fraudulent call attempt pretending to be from BT, informing me about a fictional broadband issue. However, I assure you that there is no such issue with my connection! In this situation, you can either choose to engage with them to waste their time or simply hang up and block their number to protect yourself.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT's tech support. I asked straight if it was a scam and if I should report her, which made her get a bit annoyed. Then she said I wasn’t even a BT customer and started rambling about BT shutting down all broadband before other providers do. Didn’t fancy sharing any details with her, so I just ended the call.

Got calls from someone with an Asian accent saying they were from BT, saying they needed to check my phone line for any hacking. Total scam as far as I’m concerned. I received a call from this number claiming to be from BT, stating that there was an issue with my broadband connection. The person insisted that I switch on my computer, but I informed them that I didn't own one. Instead of understanding, the caller began hurling insults at me, calling me a liar, idiot, and stupid. They proceeded to use extremely abusive language. I have reported the call and it was distressing to receive such unwarranted calls like these.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she was from BT. She kept asking "Are you there?" over and over, which sounded fishy to me. I've read about scams where they try to record you saying "yes" and then use that recording to trick you into agreeing to pay for stuff. So I just kept saying the same line back to her until she got fed up and ended the call.

Beware, total scam! Got a call from a woman who sounded Asian, said she was from BT. She asked me to let her into my computer to ‘fix’ supposed problems. Obviously just trying to nick my bank info and charge me for stuff that isn’t even broken. Told her straight to jog on, couldn’t be bothered with her faffing. Don’t fall for it!

We keep receiving multiple calls from an individual of Asian descent claiming to be from BT, insisting that our broadband is experiencing issues. However, we are not subscribed to BT and our broadband is functioning perfectly fine. It is evident that these calls are part of a scam. What's especially concerning is the high level of persistence portrayed by this impolite individual.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who said her name was Nancy. She claimed there was an issue with my BT broadband and that hackers were involved. I played along until she asked me to switch on my computer so she could access it. I then told her I don’t even use BT for internet and called her out as a scammer. She got a bit hostile before hanging up. This is actually the second time this week someone’s called about BT broadband problems, but from a different number. Surely they know about the fines BT’s been slapped with recently?

For the last couple of weeks, I've been getting loads of calls from someone claiming to be from BT’s tech support. They keep asking to access my computer, but when I asked for evidence, they couldn’t show any and got quite rude. I checked with BT directly, and they told me it’s definitely a scam. Just watch out for this kind of fraud!

Best to just ignore these calls! They’re all scams and honestly, they don't even sound believable. They usually claim to be from BT Openreach right away, and if you tell them you don’t use BT, they’ll try to name all sorts of other providers like Sky or TalkTalk to keep you on the line. Most of the time the caller has an Asian accent, whether male or female. Just hang up and report them to TPS. If you have any problems with your internet, stick to contacting your actual provider directly.

I received two phone calls. Both times, the person claimed to be from BT, although their strong accent made it seem like they were calling from overseas. I could tell they were working in a call centre. They told me that I had an issue with my internet connection. It was obvious that this was a scam, but given the recent problems I've had with BT, it could be easy to fall for.

Common scam alert: Beware of scam callers who claim that there is an issue with your computer and attempt to gain remote access/control. They may try to trick you into pressing certain buttons that would allow them to take control of your system. Subsequently, they will "discover" a supposed serious problem and demand payment to fix it. Recently, we received multiple calls, the first one displaying as "unavailable out of area," which we wisely chose not to answer. Just moments after, however, another call came in from a number that was displayed on our caller ID. It seems scammers have caught onto the fact that people are hesitant to pick up calls from unknown numbers!

I received a phone call from a woman who had a noticeable foreign accent, likely Asian. She insisted she was from BT and raised concerns about my broadband being hacked. After that, she connected me to a man with a similar accent who identified himself as Alex Jones. He continued to assert that my broadband had been compromised and sought information about the devices I use. Despite the call lasting for quite some time, I steadfastly refused to provide any details. Eventually, he hung up on me, becoming rather aggressive when I confronted him about his scam.

This bloke said his name was David, sounded quite Asian, and claimed someone was using my computer for dodgy stuff. He warned me I'd get nicked if the cops found out since it’d look like I was the culprit. I just told him I'd rather risk it than believe his rubbish, and even joked about where he came from. But they don't give up, ringing me a couple of times a week, like clockwork!

Got two calls today from different people, first a bloke then a lady, both with really dodgy English saying they were from BT and that our internet was being hacked. The guy, who said his name was David, gave me this phone number 02030971621 and a BT staff ID BT0119. My partner had been called by that same number before and they even connected her to someone pretending to be Bill Gates. When she mentioned it was odd that "Bill Gates," an American, had such a strong Asian accent, the callers got rude and she ended the call.
