Even after I've asked them loads of times to stop, they keep ringing me up.

Some bloke asked if I was Mrs (insert ex bf’s surname) and if I still had The Mill House.

He mentioned something about inspecting energy setups, but I told him he probably dialled the wrong number and he just hung up.

Seems like cold-callers always assume a woman on the line will be Mrs, once they get the man’s surname.

Bit odd really. Never married to my ex thankfully, and he hasn’t lived here since 2010. That must be an ancient list they’re working from!

I got a call from a guy who just burst out laughing and then disconnected straight away - honestly, so strange! I dialled the number back and only reached a voicemail with the company’s name. I’ve already put in a complaint with TPS.

Got three calls from someone asking straight away for me by my name. They said they were checking energy services nearby but refused to say which company they were from. I just ended the call.

Got a robocall saying my internet would be cut off soon and gave me a list of numbers to dial to sort it out. It said it was from TalkTalk. I just ended the call. Definitely spam.

They called up and wanted to chat about an energy assessment, asking if I was still living at my son’s place. When I told them I wasn’t, they just hung up straight away. They did ask for me by my last name first, though.

Got a call from some dodgy energy firm, and the bloke knew both my name and where I lived. When I asked who he was, he just hung up on me. Sounded like he had a Northern accent.

Got a call from a woman with a northern accent who actually knew my name, saying she was offering free energy assessments for my neighbourhood. I asked if their company was following the rules set by the Telephone Preference Service since I’m on their list. She admitted there had been a "mix-up" with their system. Told her they’d contacted me previously and to make sure it doesn’t happen again. She ended the call pretty quickly after that. Have blocked 01484442046 now.

I got a call from someone quite unprofessional who kept pushing me to book an appointment for funding related to energy ratings and backup. They were asking way too many personal questions and it made me really uncomfortable, so I just ended the call. Seemed pretty dodgy to me.

Then the person claimed they'd connect me to some adjudicator, but the line went quiet for a bit. I was trying to figure out who would even nominate me for this. Suddenly they came back and said “wrong answer, you lose, bye” and hung up. I’m certain it’s a scam since I could hear a girl giggling in the background. What’s worrying is how they got hold of my name and number, especially since I’m meant to be ex-directory.

I think they must be running those auto dial machines that ring loads of phones at the same time. I didn’t pick up straight away, so when I did, there was silence because they’d probably already got hold of someone else. After a bit, they started chatting with me, but it was just the usual dull sales patter. I’ve seen this number pop up before and I wasn’t exactly friendly with them, but it seems they don’t really care.

Got a call from this number recently but as usual, no voicemail or anything. It reminded me of a few other Huddersfield area codes buzzing me lately. From what I’ve read here, it’s some energy firm trying to get through, so honestly, best to just ignore and not bother picking up!
