Some bloke named Connor rang me up asking if I wanted to switch broadband. When I said no, he quickly tried pushing insurance instead. He sounded quite young and didn’t come across as very professional. Pretty sure it was a scam call.

01483 948423 called me a few times today, it only rings a couple of times before they cut off. The last time I picked up, I just said hello and they ended the call straight away. I've blocked the number now.

This number has called me six times so far. I’ve got a habit of not picking up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, and after reading what others have said, I’m rather pleased I didn’t. They rang, then hung up, called back, hung up again, and then tried me again in a matter of seconds. Quite the nuisance, isn’t it?

This number has called me like 2 or 3 times over the past few weeks but never left a voicemail. When I tried calling back, there was just a recorded message saying ‘thanks for calling’ then it just hung up with a buzzing noise!

They said they were from MoneySavingExpert and suggested Shell Energy for broadband. I had actually visited the MSE website a few days earlier and followed a link to Shell's deal, so I reckon someone's hacked their site or something.

Had a phone call from a company comparing gas and electricity prices. What a nuisance! They ring, but the moment you pick up, they just cut the line. Quite irritating, really! I've gone ahead and blocked their number.

Got a call from 01483948423 earlier. A lady claimed it was regarding my Talk Talk contract, said it was an 18-month deal and about to end, offering a new one at a higher rate. I was certain my contract ran for 2 years starting June 2021, so I said I'd verify. Suddenly, the line cut off. After checking, my contract is indeed for 24 months. She spoke so fast I couldn’t even get a chance to respond. Seems like a dodgy scam to me.

Got a second ring today from 01483948423 about some Talk Talk contract. The person claimed to be from Moneysaving Expert, saying he’d handled a deal for me 18 months back. That part was right, but I switched contracts since then for a 2-year term. I asked what number he was calling from and he said an 0800 number, supposedly Talk Talk’s customer service. When I checked my caller ID with 1471, it showed 01483948423. He didn’t ask for any personal or bank info, which I wouldn’t have shared anyway.

Got a call on my landline today, which I hardly ever use. The woman sounded really casual, never said who she was with, and called out my ex-husband’s first name asking for him. I told her he’s not lived here for more than 11 years now, then she just said sorry and hung up!

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be Craig from British Gas. He wanted me to switch my tariff. I asked him to email me the details, but he said British Gas don’t do that until I agree on the phone. I said I’d ring British Gas myself, and he said that might take ages. I said no problem. Then he said if I decided now it’d make life easier for him. I just said cheers and hung up. Sounded proper convincing, with the usual background buzz like a call centre.

I got a call from 01483948423 from someone saying they were from Money Expert, talking about British Gas and stopping my energy bills going up in October. At first, they seemed pretty believable. But when I asked where they got my phone number from, they went quiet. I told them I’d handle it on my own, and then they just ended the call and hung up on me. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Some bloke rang me up saying he was offering “insurance” to cover rising energy costs. Was on a mobile, and when I asked about his company, he couldn’t give a proper answer. Said he was calling for British Gas, but that they were “too tied up” with customers from firms that had gone bust. Seemed fishy to me.

Received two calls from them today. Picked up the second time and it seemed like a call centre based in the UK. They claimed to represent British Gas, urging me to switch to a fixed tariff. They sounded fairly legitimate and even knew my first name, which was a bit disconcerting. However, when they asked for my full name and address, I got a bit uneasy. I politely declined and told them I’d prefer to do my own research.
