Saw this number pop up as a missed call on my phone. When I tried calling back, it just wouldn’t connect! Strange.

I've been getting calls from scammers claiming there's an issue with my computer. They're relentless and often become quite irate if you don’t engage with their nonsense. Honestly, the best course of action is to simply end the call and, if possible, block the number entirely.

this number has rung me a couple times, just today at about 5:50pm actually, that's what made me look it up. rang my internet provider and they said they had nothing to do with it, was almost convinced it was legit coz i’d been dealing with them about my wifi and even had an engineer round the house recently. but after a bit i realised something wasn’t right.

Over the last couple of days, I've had a few calls from people pretending to be tech support, saying there was something wrong with my computer. Then on the fourth call, a woman named Rachel got through and said she wanted to help me out. I told her thanks, and joked that they must really be concerned since a few others had called already. I also explained that my husband’s in IT, so my computer’s fine, and asked her to stop calling. But no luck - I got another call today, and when I didn’t answer, they just hung up.

Someone rang me today about issues with my computer. It was obvious it was a con, so I told him to go get a proper job instead.

I received a call where no one spoke on the other end. I suspect it’s a scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were from the tech support about some dodgy downloads on my computer. They gave me a website: [#techhelpdesk(###], seemed legit at first glance. Since I’ve never dealt with them before, I just ended the call. Now I'm trying to verify if the site’s actually real by checking the official one.

Some bloke called saying there was an issue with my computer, but I told him I don't even own one. Then he tried asking about other gadgets I supposedly have, which I don't. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

Earlier today, I got a call from this number, with someone inquiring after a Mr. Jones and claiming there was an issue with my computer. I informed them that I had no idea who Mr. Jones was and that my computer was functioning perfectly well, before promptly ending the call. Imagine my astonishment when I checked the number with 1471 and realised it was from a local area! Just because I’m a bit vintage doesn’t mean I’m gullible!

They just rang me up claiming there was something wrong with my computer, which I don’t even have. When I started being sarcastic, they just cut the call straight away.

Got a call from someone saying there was a tech issue with my computer. I said I just use a tablet, and then he told me to open it up. I told him to jog on!

I've received an annoying call from someone purporting to be from some tech support team, blabbering about how programmes on my computer are dragging it down and supposedly pilfering info from my online banking. They just persist regardless of what you tell them. Best bet is to cut the line. I suspect their next tactic would be to persuade you to tweak certain settings on your PC, paving the way for them to take control and snatch your personal information. I wouldn't trust them an inch!

Everytime I pick up the phone, they just hang up on me straight away.

Watch out for this scam! Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying they’re ringing about a virus on my PC. They tried to get me to let them control my computer remotely. Total con, stay safe!
