Just got hit by one of those scammers promising to help me get my money back on a timeshare, but they wanted me to pay legal fees first. Total con! Definitely steer clear, I’ve fallen for these tricks before and it’s a nightmare.

someone called claiming to be samantha richards, said she was from some resort protect thing, a timeshare exit firm or something. i asked how they got my number and she told me it came from the timeshare register, said all timeshare companies had to hand over their members’ info - “sort of like the ppi fiasco”. i questioned her about the data protection laws and pointed out we’re on the tps, so why were they even allowed to ring us? she promised to wipe my number from their system. still, i’ve blocked the number. fed up with these pesky phone callers.

I wanted to know who it was so I asked their name, but as soon as I tried to find out who was on the line, they just cut me off.

They rang me up out of the blue, trying to help with getting out of timeshare contracts. Once they began pressing for info I wasn’t comfortable sharing and wouldn't accept a straight refusal, I just ended the call.

Sounds like they’re trying to scam people into giving up their timeshare deals. Definitely dodgy tactics to snatch up clients.
