Got an automatic call that was being forwarded to three different offices across Europe, so I just ended up hanging up because of the costs.

Got a call from someone saying they were with BT, asking if I was having trouble with my broadband. I had just had Openreach round the other day, so I knew everything was fine. I told the bloke that, and he just ended the call straight away.

Got a call claiming to be from Virgin Media saying there was something wrong with my internet. I told them my connection was fine but they insisted I wasn’t an engineer. The person on the phone barely spoke English properly. Then they just ended the call. Pretty sure it’s a scam trying to get into your computer or something.

I’ve had about five calls now, each from a different caller claiming to be from Virgin Media tech support. They keep telling me there’s a big issue with malware on my Virgin Media broadband but then just hang up. I checked with Virgin Media myself and they said everything’s absolutely fine with my service.

Got a call from 01483423385 telling me there was something wrong with my BT router and asked me to turn on my laptop. The caller spoke with such a thick accent that I could hardly catch what they were saying. I just told them I’d reach out to BT directly since it didn’t sound legit at all!

My 71-year-old mum got a call from someone pretending to be from Sky, saying they had to access the computer to fix the broadband speed. She ended up sharing her computer login info, but now she can’t even get on it. The guy started shouting and getting really rude during the call, which lasted over an hour. He said his name was Dave, but he had an Indian accent. Then someone else, calling himself Eric John and claiming to be the billing manager, came on the line - same accent though. It’s awful how they target vulnerable people like this, really despicable behaviour.

Got a call from someone saying they were with BT and needed to check my router. Felt a bit dodgy, so I reckon it was a phishing attempt.
