Some bloke rang saying he was from Openreach, talking about free phone calls and started asking me questions. When I asked if he could just send the info by post, he said no, it had to be done over the phone. That’s when I ended the call.

This number has been calling me loads, but I’ve stopped picking up. Instead, I wait for it to stop ringing and then do a 1471 to check who it is. It’s annoying that we have to go this far just to avoid these calls. I’ve told them so many times to take me off their list, but nothing changes. Some days it’s really maddening that nothing can be done to make these calls stop.

Got a call from Calls Unlimited saying they’ll give me free calls and that they’re partners with BT Openreach. They even had my address from over two years ago, which felt odd since I moved ages back. I have no idea who they really are. I signed up to the TPS a while ago, so I reported them to the ICO. Total waste of time, those lot. Honestly, don’t want to imagine what might happen if you give them any personal stuff like bank details.

Got a call from a bloke looking for Mrs xxx. When I said she wasn’t home and was at work, he insisted their records show Eileen handles the phone bill. I never confirmed that or anything. Then he asked when Mrs xxx would be back. Totally unsolicited call, and they even shared the name of who supposedly pays the bill. Bit odd if you ask me.

Some bloke rang up acting like he knew all my phone account stuff, but couldn’t actually give me any right details. When I challenged him, he said he wasn’t trying to scam me. I told him to take us off his call list since we never answer calls like his. Then he got really rude, so I just hung up. Got a call from someone saying they were with BT. They knew my name and address even though I’m ex-directory and on the TPS, so I shouldn’t be getting these calls. The guy, Lee, was quite rude and insisted I didn’t have a BT line but could still "save me money on my calls". Wouldn’t listen to me at all and just hung up. I don't want any of these calls, so I’ve reported Calls Unlimited under the DPA. Would recommend others do that too.

A woman phoned asking for whoever pays the phone bill and oddly knew my husband's name. I told her I also handled the account. She never said which company she was with, just jumped straight into talking about some free calls we apparently weren't receiving. When I said I was confused and didn’t follow what she meant, she just grumbled something about phoning back another time and then ended the call.

This number keeps ringing me up non stop... they just won’t stop bothering! The caller asked straight away for me by name saying something like "I understand you're the one paying the phone bill"...I told them no way, never have been. Then they said they were from Openreach working for BT, trying to check I’m getting my free call allowance and asked who actually pays the bill. I told them if they’re legit, they’d already have that info. We went round in circles for about five minutes before they finally took the hint and ended the call. So frustrating and pointless. Got another call today asking for my husband by his first name, I said hang on I’ll get him, but by the time I passed the phone over, the caller disappeared... what was the point of that nonsense??

I got a call from someone claiming to be with Open Reach, pretending it was some sort of consumer watchdog group. They asked me to tell them my monthly bill, which took me ages to find out (bit of a faff). Then they said it was way too high and tried to swoop in with a deal from TalkTalk to cut it in half. I told them I was happy with BT and not interested. They kept hassling me, so I just said I wanted to end the call. As I hit my call blocker, the caller said something like "Good, glad you’re happy." Definitely not impressed with my attitude! Trying to sell TalkTalk is one thing, but having the cheek to pretend they’re from Open Reach is just wicked. Really hope someone puts a stop to these dodgy cold callers soon.
