10 yearsI got a call from a guy with an Indian accent who said he was from the UK Ministry of Justice. Was pretty suspicious, felt like a scam.UK Ministry of Justice10 yearsA gentleman with an overseas accent claimed to be ringing from the UK Ministry of Justice, but suddenly hung up.UK Ministry of Justice10 yearsI received a call from an Asian gentleman on a rather crackly line. He mentioned something about an outstanding amount due to me, allegedly linked to some recent legislative changes, which he claimed would be sent via cheque to my home address. He requested that I confirm my address, but I opted to remain silent. Then he inquired how to articulate my first name, which isn't anything out of the ordinary. I pointed out that if he indeed had all my details - bank info, address, and so forth - he should surely know my first name as well. At that point, he tried to butcher the pronunciation of my wife's name. It seemed to dawn on him that this conversation wasn’t going anywhere, and he abruptly ended the call.10 yearsOver the past few days, this number has rang me quite a few times. Since I didn't recognise it, I just ignored the calls.10 yearsGot a call from a guy who claimed his name was James Peterson. He spoke with a thick Indian accent and said he was ringing from the ministry of justice about some bank fees supposedly owed from the past two decades. I told him straight up I didn’t buy it and to stop calling. He then said he’d keep ringing me anyway. I had to warn him again to back off, but he was relentless. At one point I told him I felt threatened, and he admitted he wasn’t trying to scare me. I’m definitely planning to report this and make sure something is done about it.James PetersonMinistry of Justice10 yearsSomebody phoned me saying they were from the UK government about getting money back for bank overcharges, but honestly, it felt really dodgy and I don’t trust it one bit.UK10 yearsThe moment I picked up and heard that foreign accent going on about government claims, I just ended the call right away. They’re bound to trick someone who’s not so careful one day and leave them in a right mess. They really should be tracked down and punished, maybe banned from using phones altogether. Even worse is that they already have bits of our info, so never ever share any more with them.10 yearsGot a call from a bloke who said he was with the Ministry of Justice, said I could claim some money back from my bank. He asked for my bank details and some personal stuff to process it. Didn’t buy it for a second, sounded like a scam to me.Ministry of Justice10 yearsI haven't got a clue what they're referring to.10 yearsGot two calls from the same number today, this lady with a strong Asian accent was telling me I could get some money back from my bank because of some new government rules. Didn’t sound right so I just blocked the number.10 yearsGot two calls from this number today - both times they just ended the call when the answerphone started. If it’s meant to be from the claims advisory group, I’d think they’d use a proper UK number. Feels dodgy, probably a scam.UK10 yearsI received a call at 17:22 today from an individual who was apparently looking for me. The accent was definitely not local, and when I inquired how they obtained my number and requested that they take me off their list, their delightful response was something along the lines of, "Go to hell!" How lovely.10 yearsI received a call today from someone claiming to represent the Claim Advisory Group, insisting that I was owed a substantial sum due to overcharges from my bank dating back over two decades. They had my details, including my name and address, but were pressuring me for the name of the bank to process this alleged cheque. I outright declined to divulge that information, yet they persisted with the same queries. After I stood firm on not sharing anything further, they abruptly ended the call. Quite a dubious encounter!Claim Advisory Group10 yearsThis number rang me earlier, but I didn’t pick up and let the voicemail get it. Funny thing is, there wasn’t even a message left. It’s happened to me a few times before too.10 yearsI missed the call, and when I tried ringing back, all I got was a continuous buzzing sound. It's odd because I do have relatives living in that part of the country.10 yearsJust got a call from claims advisory group about an accident they say I had - which I definitely did not. Utterly baffling and obviously a scam.10 yearsA lady contacted me, apparently knowing my name, claiming to represent the Accident Claims Service about an accident I’ve supposedly had - which, incidentally, never took place.Accident Claims Service10 yearsReceived a call earlier today, but there was only silence on the line before they disconnected.10 yearsI received a call that went straight to voicemail, where the caller was inquiring about my wife. The voice had an Asian accent and there were some background sounds akin to an office environment. The chap was quite insistent, repeatedly saying “Hello, Hello” and directly mentioning my wife’s name. When there was no reply, he went quiet but left the call hanging for several minutes, only to eventually get fed up and disconnect.
