I got a text supposedly from "WESCOT" saying they’re now handling my Paypal account. The message said they’d send me a link to their "secure self service site" or I could ring 01482 484666. The weird thing is, the text just shows WESCOT with no proper number. I looked up 01482 484666 and found loads of reports about it, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. Paypal never messaged me about this, and there’s nothing in my Paypal message centre. Why on earth would Paypal let someone else sort out my account? So yeah, that 01482 484666 number is dodgy - avoid it!
