When I asked if he was some kind of scammer, he said no and kept telling me I was in debt and that they’re part of a Debt Recovery Service. I ended the call and blocked the number straight away. This is the third time I’ve had this kinda call - definitely scam tactics!

Got a call from an Asian guy who asked for me by my full name but never checked if it was actually me. Said he was calling from some credit forum and when I asked what it was about, he said there was new info that I owed money. Told him that wasn’t right and to take my details off their list. The moment I said “not true,” he just ended the call.

Some bloke from India called me, claiming he knew my full name. He said he was from the Debt Resolution Forum, apparently a government agency, and claimed I had debts I was trying to clear. The funny thing is, I don't owe a penny. So I warned him I'd report him to the Data Protection authorities for having false info about me and misusing it. He ended up hanging up quickly.

Then he suddenly shifted to asking about life insurance - which firm I used and what the monthly cost was. I was a bit taken aback and ended up giving him my date of birth, luckily nothing else. He then inexplicably shifted the conversation to inquire whether I was doing well post-jabs and proceeded to ask about my life insurance, including details about the provider and my monthly premiums. I must admit, I was a bit taken aback and, regrettably, revealed my date of birth, though I managed to withhold further personal details. It left me quite anxious, particularly for individuals who might be more susceptible. When I questioned whether he was attempting to peddle life insurance, he became rather confrontational. In hindsight, I really wish I hadn't picked up that call at all.

It was blindingly obvious they were utilising an auto-dialler - there was an awkward silence when I picked up, followed by this strange beeping sound. Then a voice, typically with an Indian accent, came on, completely mangling my name as they tried to address me. They claimed it was about some debt I apparently owe and wanted to discuss a so-called "government-backed initiative." Sounds dodgy to me, possibly a scam, definitely a hassle!

someone rang me and just hung up as soon as i picked up. if a number i don’t know or that’s blocked calls, i usually pick up and mute myself straight away, just to listen before i decide if i wanna unmute. if they ask for me, i always ask who they are and why they’re calling before i say yes it’s me, if they can’t say then i tell 'em they’ve got the wrong number. after that, i make sure to block the number so they don’t keep harassing me.
