Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, said he was from BT about my internet. He actually knew my last name. When I told him I don’t even have internet, he asked me why, so I explained I simply don’t require it, then he just hung up on me.

Today, on the 14th of July 2022, I have received three phone calls from this particular number. The individuals on the line claimed to be representatives from BT, speaking with Asian accents and discussing my BT Internet. It is concerning to me that they were aware of my name. This type of occurrence happens quite often, but I always choose to end the call.

Loads of times they call but don’t bother to leave any voicemail. Kinda makes you wonder if it’s dodgy or not.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying there was a problem with my BT line being hacked. I told him I don’t actually have BT as my provider, but he insisted my provider was using BT anyway. When he said I couldn’t fix it on my own, I just told him I definitely could and that I’d contact my own provider. Then I just hung up.

Had a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from Openreach. He asked me to hit the Windows key and ‘R’, then wanted to know what popped up on my screen. I just told him it showed the words “you are being scammed”! After that, he started shouting some rude words at me repeatedly before he suddenly cut the call!

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she was from BT, but I’m not even a customer. Sounds like another typical scam to me - I just ended the call straight away. Why doesn’t anyone stop these fraudsters? It’s really frustrating!

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, answered it and there was just dead silence on the other end. So irritating! I looked them up on WCM and have since barred them from calling me again.

A bloke called claiming to be from BT. He insisted I have my laptop open and be sat near it to fix the signal. When I said no, he bizarrely started warning me I’d die and told me to open my door. Then he threatened to disconnect my internet, which I just told him to do if he wanted. Then the call just ended suddenly.

I asked him to tell me my BT password just to check, and he suddenly got really nervous and all over the place. I didn’t bother listening much after that and just ended the call.

01479787956 Some bloke with an Indian accent called pretending to be from BT Openreach. He told me my internet was being used by someone else and asked what colour the lights on my router were. Then he wanted me to turn on my PC so he could 'fix' the problem. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Openreach, saying there was illegal stuff going on with my account. The woman, calling herself Rose, started arguing when I asked questions. She then told me BT never calls customers, but I reminded her she was doing just that, then she just cut me off. Definitely a scam, watch out!
