I received a rather perplexing call from a number I didn’t recognise - the caller claimed to be from BT, stating they had an issue with my router. They gave me an employee number, BT19840, and urged me to check the router so they could carry out some tests. I mentioned that I was at work and expressed my confusion as to why they were reaching out to me when the account is under my husband's name. There was a noticeable pause in the conversation, after which they requested that I or my husband ring them back once I got home using the number they provided. Quite the odd encounter, I must say!
