I've been receiving persistent calls from this number of late. It's blatantly a scam designed to manipulate unsuspecting individuals into providing access to their computers, thereby facilitating data theft and potential financial fraud. Out of sheer curiosity, I decided to humour them and followed most of their instructions, but I quickly grew tired of the charade. They seem to take an excruciatingly long time, perhaps in a misguided effort to appear more believable. It’s utterly ridiculous! When I informed the caller that I was aware of their con and that I didn’t even use BT Openreach, they audaciously insisted that I did! How ludicrous! My advice? As soon as you hear "BT Openreach," hang up and block this number immediately.

i got a call from a woman with an indian accent saying she was with bt openreach. she told me their engineer was at the exchange. i asked her which exchange it was, but she dodged the question and asked why i needed to know. i asked again, but her reply was the same vague nonsense. i told her she called to inform me about something so i expected some proper details, but she didn't seem willing to give any. then she just ended the call. it felt like a scam right from the start, especially since bt isn’t even who provides our internet!

This bloke said he was from BT and started asking about my router, but when I asked him some basic security stuff, he just dropped the call. How come BT don’t do anything to stop these scammers? It’s proper annoying.

Some dodgy character called trying to get into my computer, like I’m daft enough to fall for that!

Beware of con artists attempting to infiltrate your system! If you can manage it, engage them in conversation-it's a brilliant strategy to monopolise their time and keep them occupied.

Got a call this morning from an Asian bloke just after 9 am. He started with “good afternoon, how are you today?” which was odd, because it was definitely morning, so I guessed he wasn’t based in the UK. Then he launched into some nonsense about my broadband being in trouble, but honestly, his accent was so thick I struggled to catch most of it. Told him I couldn’t understand and that it was pointless carrying on, then I just hung up. What a waste of time!

I received a call yesterday from this number, claiming to be Nancy Williams from BT Openreach, talking about my slow broadband connection. After what felt like an eternity of her running tests, she led me to believe I'd be transferred to my actual internet service provider. The chap on the other end, Sam, claimed I was owed £255 in compensation for my less-than-stellar broadband service. He suggested refunding the amount through Paypal, but as I lack an account, he proposed to wire it straight into my bank account instead. That’s when my instincts kicked in-he wanted me to access my online banking to “verify” the payment. I flatly refused, and he got quite irate, prompting me to hang up. I've since alerted both my bank and internet provider and have changed all my passwords as a precaution. Whatever you do, steer clear of this number!

The home phone's been constantly going off with calls that leave us puzzled. I asked my mother to switch on the computer for them, only to be informed that we don’t actually own one. This morning alone, I received two calls along the same lines, and honestly, it’s rather worrying. My elderly mum is left to deal with these incessant interruptions while I'm out at work. It's quite troubling, really.

We get a call every single day at work from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming he’s from BT. He keeps going on about an Openreach engineer being at the exchange and that there’s some issue with our internet. Then he wants me to answer some questions. I told him, “Your engineer seems to hang around the exchange all day, every day - has he set up camp or something?” Plus, we don’t even get our internet from BT. I said if there’s a problem with the lines, he should be talking to whoever actually provides our service. What a load of muppets!

He started with "how are you to-day" and I just snapped back, told him to fe## off and die. I honestly said he should do everyone a favour and disappear.

Honestly, these lot are proper scammers. If you've got a bit of time, try to keep them chatting as long as you can, pretending to go along with everything they say. It might help waste their time and maybe stop some poor folks from getting conned. They claim to be from BT and then try to get you to install TeamViewer so they can mess about with your computer. Utter scum, honestly.

I picked up the call, and all I got was a robotic voice that simply said, "Farewell." It struck me as rather odd.
