I received a call from someone purporting to be from the Telephone Preference Service, attempting to sell me enhanced nuisance call protection for a fee of £59. It's worth noting that the TPS is completely free of charge! Clearly, this is a scam.

I tried calling back after they didn’t leave a message but all I got was a busy signal.

I rarely do this, but I said hello first and then just ended the call since I didn’t hear the usual noisy call centre sounds.

Got a call from this number on a Saturday at about 2pm. As soon as I picked up, they just cut off. Like someone else mentioned before, I said "hello" because there was no usual noisy office sounds in the background. I've been on the TPS list ages but these unwanted calls just don't stop!

This guy was seriously stubborn... told me his name was David and he was ringing from TPS, mentioned some office in London with a postcode too. He claimed he was calling because of nuisance calls, saying he was acting on behalf of TPS. I just replied, "like the ones you make?" Honestly, he wouldn’t give up but I ended up chatting with him for about three minutes - it was actually quite amusing!

Got a call from this number, but they cut off right when I picked up. I’ve signed up for TPS like someone else mentioned here, but it doesn’t seem to do much good. If the authorities have any clue where these calls are coming from, you'd think they'd be able to stop it by now.

I just had a dodgy call claiming to be from TPS, saying they’d block scam calls for a single payment starting tomorrow. When I asked which office they were calling from and if they were legit, they just ended the call. Sounded fishy as heck!

Got a couple calls from this number today. Didn’t pick up since I’ve seen others mention it might be a scam. I’m gonna report it to OFCOM so they can have a look and see if it’s legit or not.

Got a call from an Asian bloke asking loads of questions about scam calls and trying to get my info. Pretty sure it was a scam.

I just don’t get it, if everyone knows which area these scammers keep calling from, why doesn’t the police just swoop in and sort it out? Feels like they might be turning a blind eye or something dodgy is going on with bribes maybe? It’s proper frustrating!

Got a call from someone claiming they were with the TPS, they said they needed my bank info to stop all the nuisance calls. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

There was a call centre noise in the background and they asked me if I’m still being hassled by calls. I replied, “You mean like this one?” They didn’t give up, so I told them to just “leave me alone.” Then I hung up! BE CAUTIOUS EVERYONE!!!! But when I tried calling out again, the line was still open and I overheard someone asking for the long number off a DEBIT CARD!!! Honestly, that felt really threatening to me.
