It seems like an attempted scam with a dodgy number, reportedly hailing from Grantham in Yorkshire. I received a rather shifty recorded message that claimed to be from BT Internet. Given that I’m utilising cable broadband from a different provider entirely, it’s evident this is all a ruse. The automated voice went on about my internet connection being compromised, which is nonsense. This kind of nonsense is likely a ploy to get me to press a button, leading to someone trying to gain access to my computer over a problem that doesn’t exist. Not a chance! I promptly disconnected the call, and honestly, this sort of activity probably ought to be reported to the authorities since it’s undoubtedly illegitimate.
