Got a call earlier from 01383 853704 and the person said they were from BT. They mentioned something about my router's address changing after an upgrade. I told them I’m not even with BT, and then they insisted that BT handles all telecom services across the UK. Bit odd if you ask me.

Got a call from someone saying some strange IP was trying to get into my internet and asked me to switch on my computer. I told the bloke I knew it was a scam and I wasn’t daft. Then this “Henry” bloke went ahead and said “yes ma’am you’re quite daft” before hanging up. Felt pretty sketchy so I flagged the number as risky.

They claimed to be representatives from BT, the company that manages all the internet service providers, warning me that my account was being compromised. Quite odd considering I don’t even have an account with BT!

Received three phone calls earlier today, but oddly enough, not a single voice message was left on my answering machine. It’s worth noting that while this number appears to be from Grimsby, there seems to be a discrepancy as it’s only 10 digits long, which raises a few eyebrows since a typical landline should have 11. Most likely, it’s a Display number that’s been entered incorrectly, rendering it unusable for identifying or contacting the caller, thus making it somewhat dubious. They told me to install some sharing app on my phone so they could check my internet, which I went along with at first. They had control for about five minutes, but I started getting suspicious and questioned why they needed to fix the same issues again. Since we’ve been having trouble with our internet lately, it all seemed believable. However, as soon as I figured out they weren’t legit, I cut the connection immediately!

We’re in the middle of switching our broadband from Demon since they got taken over by Vodafone, so for a moment I thought it might be genuine. But I looked it up here first - really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and sites like this to help out!

Here we go again. I got a message from my so-called “internet provider” saying they’ll disconnect me due to some “router issue”. The bloke’s voice sounded polished and definitely not foreign, but honestly, that’s just a trick. Even the most clueless scammers know by now that having some Asian-sounding geezer claiming to be from the “Windows Department” makes the whole thing a joke.

Got a call from a really polite guy saying my internet would be cut off in about 4 hours unless I pressed some buttons like one or two. Then, barely 15 minutes later, I got the same call again!

I got a call from 0147258443 with some automated voice warning my internet was about to be cut off. They told me to press 1 or something, but I ignored it since it seemed like a trick to charge me extra. I normally divert all unknown numbers to my voicemail and my greeting clearly states "No sales calls will be accepted, leave a message only if it's important." Just got a call from this number earlier today, around 11 in the morning on the 24th of April 2019. There was a slight pause before a woman spoke up, sounding like she had an Indian accent, saying, 'Hi, I’m Olivia and I’m calling from BT'. I wasn’t buying it at all, told her no you’re not and hung up straight away.
