Had this guy with an Indian accent claiming his name was Roger, plenty of call centre chatter in the background. He said he was from Telephone Preference Management - my husband’s reply was too much to say here. We ended the call with Roger stuck listening to Ellie Goulding blasting from the speaker!

Someone rang saying they were from the telephone preference service (TPS). They already had my name and address, which was a bit worrying. The person spoke with a really thick Indian accent. Typical scam calls from Asia, like those TPI, Microsoft, PPI, or Accident Claim ones. Normally I don’t pick up, but if I’ve got some free time, like today, I mess with them for ages before telling them off with a proper string of classic Anglo Saxon swear words - seems like everyone gets them lol. Over time they’ve tried scare tactics, like saying they’ll turn up or keep calling nonstop, but it never actually happens. So don’t hold back, give the buggers a proper telling-off, male or female. 😄 That number’s now blocked on my BT Call Guardian, along with loads of others.

The person called asking if they were speaking to Mrs X. When I asked who he was, he said he was from TPS, which I really don’t believe. He mentioned our address and said I lived in the "City of XVille", but I told him that’s not a city. Then he started shuffling a bunch of papers, probably his script, trying to keep up. He went on about stopping nuisance calls for me. I got bored and said, "Like this one?" and he just hung up! Total scammers!

This number has rung me a couple of times, but luckily call blocker stops the calls from coming through. If you're getting constant cold calls, I really suggest reporting them to the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office). They actually take action against these cold calling firms and some have been fined big amounts - one got hit with a £100,000 fine for making more than 75,000 annoying calls. Definitely head over to the ICO website and file a complaint.

Got calls over and over from this number. Both men and women with Asian accents. Sometimes they say there’s a problem with my computer, other times they pretend to be from Microsoft or BT. They get really rude if you ask any questions and just hang up on you. I imagine this is a proper nightmare for older folks or anyone who might feel scared or worried by these calls.

Got a call from an Asian guy asking if I was the phone 'owner'. I said nothing. He claimed to be calling from the 'phone company'. I just stayed quiet and ended the call. That’s the second dodgy call today. Another one came from 0203 287 5683 and left a message that could freak out anyone who's vulnerable - pretending to be HMRC but sounding really harsh and scary.

It’s quite frustrating receiving calls at such odd hours, like 8 in the morning or even as late as half past 9 in the evening. When I finally picked up, the chap on the line, who sounded Indian, didn’t take kindly to my inquiries regarding how he obtained my details. I politely requested him to “hold” and set my phone down on mute for about 8 to 10 minutes. Upon returning, he was still hanging on, so I cheerfully thanked him for his patience and for effectively wasting his own time. He muttered something in what sounded like his native tongue before abruptly ending the call. Naturally, I’ve now added him to my block list!

Had a call the other day where the person kept mentioning TPS, then started asking about payment info. I told them I wasn’t aware since I never paid anything. Ended up hanging up straight away. Very much reminded me of those fake Microsoft callers and similar scams. Definitely a dodgy call.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from TPS, saying I needed to register but I already am. When I asked him to confirm who he really was, he just dodged it. Ended up hanging up on him.

I got a call from someone who sounded Asian and as soon as I picked up, he asked if I was the person who owns this phone number. When I said no, he just ended the call straight away.

About an hour ago, at around 4pm, I got a call on my landline from 01472501915. I didn’t pick up, so I tried calling back but there was no number available. Not sure if they’re even reachable online or what.

Got a call from someone claiming to be "Telephone Preference Service" but they had a very strong Indian accent. Usually, you aren’t meant to ring them first! Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

Rang me but when I didn't pick up and it went to answerphone, they just ended the call straight away.
