Fraudulent activity.

Received a call during my work hours that possibly originated from Scotland. I'm not acquainted with anyone from that region, yet it seems these nuisance callers couldn't even be bothered to leave a proper message! What a waste of time!

Got a ring from some blokes, or perhaps not? Honestly, it didn’t bother me much since I was out and about at the time. They didn’t bother to leave a message, so no harm done!

Called me a couple of times within half an hour today. If someone leaves a message asking, “How’s your day going?” then I already know it’s not something I want to deal with. Best to cut the conversation short and hang up!

I've had a similar encounter as everyone else mentioned here. This bloke was relentless in his pursuit for my card information. I told him, with a bit of cheek, that while I appreciated his efforts, he wasn’t going to get any success from me. He could jolly well kiss my backside if he thought I was foolish enough to hand over my card details to someone I didn't even know!

I’m relieved I decided to ignore their calls after perusing the earlier remarks. They’ve attempted to reach me five times today alone, and have already tried twice more since then. I've put them on my blocked list.

He claimed to be calling from the TPS, so I promptly informed him that my Christmas pastries were expecting and that my parakeet was suffering from a dodgy stomach. He promptly disconnected, and I’ve not received a word from him after that!

I've received a fair few calls from this number, though luckily I managed to miss the majority of them. It seems they're up to their old tricks, trying to pull some sort of TPS scam and fishing for credit card information. Classic con artists! Do yourself a favour and steer clear of this number – best to block it! Cheers, A.

These fraudulent individuals employ various phone numbers and operate outside of the United Kingdom. BT has shown no inclination to hinder these scammers, as they profit from their calls! Over the past 48 hours, I have received approximately 15-20 calls from them, each originating from a different number. Thankfully, my system records these calls, though it does not grant access to unidentified numbers.

I've had the misfortune of receiving nine calls from them today alone. It’s incredibly irritating!

A chap from India rang me up claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. The moment he mentioned transferring me to some sort of activation department, I promptly hung up the phone. I had a sneaking suspicion that the next thing he’d request would be my credit card details. Better safe than sorry, I'd say!

I received a call from a gentleman with an Asian accent who said he was representing TSP. However, as soon as I inquired about the number he was ringing me from, he abruptly ended the conversation. It seems he cottoned on to the fact that I wasn't about to engage with him!

The phone keeps ringing persistently. It starts around 9am and continues to ring every hour or so. I have stopped answering the phone now and instead rely on friends and family to leave messages. It has become quite bothersome, so I believe it is high time for me to invest in a whistle. Perhaps that would put an end to the incessant ringing.

I cannot tolerate the ridiculousness of phone preferences. Out of the 32 calls I have received this week, a staggering 29 were unwanted! Supposedly, they claim to assist in preventing such calls. Here's my solution: install an answering machine and refrain from picking up the phone. If the caller is important or a family member, they will surely comprehend. Above all, never verify any information. Instead, take a message without disclosing any personal details. Your name is your identity, and it shouldn't be easy for others to obtain.

I've been receiving three calls from this number within three hours, but I haven't answered as I've read the messages posted by others. I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here.

Three phone calls were received on Saturday morning. Although we did not pick up the calls, it was still quite frustrating because we felt compelled to check in case they were from friends or family members who typically reach out to us on Saturdays.

I received a call from someone who claimed to be connected to the Telephone Preference Service, which made me concerned. They phoned us two times today, and although we didn't pick up the first time, we answered the second time. Interestingly, they appeared to possess detailed information about our address and postcode. While their conversation seemed plausible, I remain cautious.

Over the course of two days, I have been receiving more than 10 phone calls from this particular number, with the caller alleging to be representing the TPS. Despite my repeated requests for them to cease contacting me, the calls persist without any reduction.

I received a call from someone who sounded Asian, claiming to be from the TPS. When I asked for the phone number he was calling from, he hung up. Dealing with these people can be quite frustrating. Blocking them using BT's Call Protect doesn't seem effective as they simply call from a different number. The TPS also doesn't seem very effective in stopping these calls. As another person pointed out, the most reliable way to avoid them is to have an answering machine and keep it on all the time. It's quite annoying!

I contacted the authorities to report an incident where I unintentionally startled my 97-year-old mother during a phone call.

Despite multiple previous calls this morning, no response has been received yet. Surprisingly, before 11am on a Saturday, they have called several times.

I received a call from a gentleman with an accent that suggested he might be of Asian descent, inquiring about sensitive information like my credit card details. I advise against engaging with him.

Absolutely, it appears that its roots can indeed be traced back to Scotland.

They have been called three times within a span of ten minutes. When are they finally going to understand what we're trying to convey?

A man appeared, claiming to be a representative from BT, offering to end the nuisance calls that have been plaguing us. He recited our personal information - our name, address, and postcode - and even stated that the expiry date of my Direct Debit card was in 2018, which is incorrect. The fact that he knows this detail raises suspicions as to how he obtained it. He proposed that if I provide him with the card number, he would put an end to these bothersome calls. This is the second encounter with such a scammer today. It is clear that this is a scam and people should exercise caution.

Absolutely unacceptable behaviour. They ring me every single hour without fail.

We have informed this gentleman multiple times that we do not require their assistance in handling nuisance calls. However, he persistently continues to call us despite our requests. When we reiterated our desire for him to cease calling, he requested our sort code, claiming to be from the UK Data Protection, with the intention of stopping all calls. We declined once again, but he unapologetically threatened us, stating that starting tomorrow, we can expect a barrage of nuisance calls before abruptly ending the call.

We continuously receive 5 to 10 phone calls on a daily basis, and it feels extremely menacing.

Hello, once again. We have been receiving calls from individuals who have Asian accents, using the numbers 01909732859 and 01275250667. It's quite unfortunate that they lead such sorrowful lives. These numbers have been reported to the legitimate TPP (Telephone Preference Service), and they have confirmed that these are indeed fake numbers.

Today, I received a call from a certain number, where the person on the other end repeatedly requested my debit card's expiry date. They initially gave a fictitious expiry date, and then proceeded to coax me into revealing the real one. Furthermore, they went as far as asking me to read out the registration number located at the bottom of my cash card, which I suspected was my bank account number. The situation seemed incredibly suspicious, so I promptly terminated the call.

I received a ring from some Scots, yet oddly enough, it was nothing but utter silence on the line! It's quite a rare occasion to find a Scot at a loss for words, I must say! 😂
