I've had this number ring me about five times over the past few hours. Each time I just let it go to voicemail, but no message was left. I've since blocked it now.

Today alone, I've had 5 calls so far. The first three just hung up after a few seconds. Then, I got two more from a bloke with an Asian accent, mumbling nonsense I couldn’t make out. I told him off and said I’d be reporting them to the cops. Fingers crossed they stop, but I’m not holding my breath! What’s the use of joining a call blocking service if these dodgy callers can ring you up with no worries about getting caught?

Today I’ve had a few calls on my landline and my cellphone from the same number, 07795565851, all about some complaint involving nuisance calls. I never actually phoned them about anything like that. It's quite confusing getting these calls from a mobile to mine about something I didn’t even contact them for!

I got called four times today. Two times it just went to voicemail with no message left. On the other two, I picked up but they just hung up straight away. When I tried calling back, I heard an American voice saying the number isn’t active right now. Strange!

Today I got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming they were helping to stop nuisance calls. They kept saying they’d ring back over and over, saying they weren’t doing anything wrong! Totally dodgy and pretty stressful. The phone number showed it was from somewhere in Southend-on-Sea, but turns out these calls actually originate from overseas. Looks like these scammers have bought UK area codes to trick people into thinking it’s a local call - but it’s definitely not!

This afternoon, about 4 calls came in from a guy with an Asian accent, all roughly 45 minutes apart. I barely let him say a word before hanging up. Checked out this forum and yeah, sounds like just another spammer. Now I’m trying to figure out how to block these annoying calls!

I've flagged this number with BT already. Just like others, it’s a man with an Asian accent asking for our bank info. It’s really annoying and feels quite threatening. This is happening on my elderly folks' phone line - they’re both in their 90s. My dad just ends the call straight away. I can only imagine how people who are more trusting might react. Interestingly, it all kicked off soon after I signed them up for silent call guard. Wonder if that’s a coincidence?

The moment they caught the answering machine, they hung up straight away. Pretty sure it was just some con artists trying their luck.

This number has rung me three times today after an initial silent call from 02081814432, which I think was just to see if someone was there. About half an hour later, they rang saying they were from the telephone preference service, asking if I'd been getting nuisance calls. I told them they were the first in ages and then ended the call. The second time they said my number was going to be removed from the TPS list, but I just hung up again. They tried once more a few hours later but I wasn’t home to answer.

Seemed like they claimed to be from the TPS, but then went on to tell me the old owner's details from like 7 years back. This was just one of loads of dodgy calls I've had recently, so I reckon they’re using some hacked list and just cycling through numbers. The number’s got an area code from Isle of Skye - bit odd for a call centre, innit? I usually keep 'em chatting for ages, thinking that while they’re stuck with me, they ain’t bothering anyone else.

got a call from a woman with an asian accent saying she was from some tps blocking thing. she wanted me to sign up again but i told her to jog on. she called twice this morning - first time just silent then ended the call. came back again about 5 mins ago. she already had my name, address and postcode which really freaked me out.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be Sean Parker from TPS, gave some ref number like stm7030. When we said we'd verify with the UK TPS, he asked for our names and addresses. He said he’s working to block spam calls coming from overseas, but then ended up saying he was cancelling all our TPS protections because we wouldn’t give him our details! Total spammy nonsense.

Got a call today around 10:45 in the morning but my BT call blocker stopped it from ringing through. I reckon it’s a scam, especially since I noticed a similar number ending in 15 on the right-hand side list. Looks like the usual scammers again, no doubt about it.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying our phone preference settings are about to expire tomorrow and we’d start getting loads more calls. She wanted a one-time payment of £21.99. I refused to give any personal info since she didn’t provide any email or a phone number where I could reach her back. So, I just blocked the number and reported it to BT. Definitely seems dodgy to me.

Got a call from a guy speaking with an Indian accent, but the line was really bad and crackly. He said he was with something called Telephone Preference Management, not the usual Telephone Preference Service. The number was 01470, which I know is for the Isle of Skye in Scotland, but when I asked he said he was actually in London. He told me I'd supposedly agreed to receive calls from them, but when I asked when that happened, he just hung up on me. Lucky he didn't ask for any bank info like some others have mentioned. I've blocked the number now.

Got two calls this morning from someone pretending to be the telephone preference service. They weren’t even from the UK - struggled to say my name right and didn’t know what a silent ‘e’ was! Definitely dodgy, so I just blocked the number and reported them to the telecom regulators. Best to do the same and not trust them at all.
