I didn’t pick up when this number called me. I generally avoid answering calls from numbers I don’t recognise. Just a heads up to be careful.

Looks like a scam. They claimed to be from EE but wanted me to verify my bank details as some kind of security measure. Nope, blocked straight away.

Got a call from this number today. The person didn’t say who they were at first, but when I asked they claimed to be from EE. They started asking about my account and payment methods, which made me suspicious pretty quickly. I refused to give them any info and they told me to verify the number on the EE website. I didn’t want to waste time so I ended the call. Later I checked EE’s site and couldn’t find this number anywhere, just some pricey 09 number. They said they could offer me a better deal but I’m already on the best plan I need, so not sure why EE would even bother reaching out. Feels like a dodgy scam if you ask me.

Someone rang me saying they were from EE, sounded like they were in a really noisy office. They somehow knew I’d bought top-up vouchers before. They wanted to talk about changing my data plan, but I was happy with what I’ve got right now. Plus, I was in a rush to catch a bus. I’ve got things sorted just fine, and if I ever want to switch, I’ll just pop into an EE store myself.

I saw I’d missed a call from this number and gave it a ring back at about 9:30pm on 18/10/2022, but it came up as unreachable. Tried again the next morning around 11:50 on 19/10/2022, and a message said it was EE who had phoned me and that they’d call back soon. Bit odd since I was the one ringing, not them.

Fraudsters often rely on programs that let them show any number they want on your caller ID. This trick, called ‘spoofing’, makes it look like they're ringing from a real person or business, but they really aren’t.
4 years
You know, these scammers have tricks up their sleeves - they can make it look like any number is ringing on your phone thanks to something called 'spoofing'. Basically, they use special software so it seems like a call is coming from a real business or someone you might trust, but it’s all fake.

Had a call that sounded like it was from India... they were askin for bank details and personal stuff... (WATCH OUT THEY MIGHT BE MAKING FAKE PASSPORTS AND BANK ACCOUNTS)............... WHY IS IT ALWAYS AN INTERNATIONAL CALL FROM KOLKATA, INDIA............. TOTAL SCAMMERS!

Heard a voice with an Indian accent calling me, asking for my bank details and personal info. (WARNING - they use this stuff to create fake passports and open fraudulent bank accounts)…. Why is it that these calls always come from Kolkata, India? Definitely some international scam going on here.

I’ll just pop down to the EE shop on the high street and show my I.D. in person. None of this silly phone call nonsense from EE or some dodgy scammer trying to get me to upgrade. If it is a scam, then they’ve already got my details leaked - like my address, age and even who I bank with. It’s all a bit worrying really.

I'm just gonna pop down to the corner shop... yeah, the EE shop right near me, with my real ID in hand. I've had heaps of calls supposedly from EE or some dodgy scammer telling me to upgrade. But if it's a scam, how come they've got my address, my age, and even which bank I use? And why is it every time it's some international number, always from Kolkata, India? Seems fishy to me!

Avoid picking up calls claiming to be from EE... Scammers use the same tricks all the time. Best thing is just pop into an EE shop and get your pay-as-you-go or contract deal sorted face-to-face.
EE

Avoid picking up calls claiming to be from EE - they’re usually scammers using the same tricks. Honestly, the safest bet is to just pop into an EE shop and get yourself a pay-as-you-go or contract deal in person. Don’t risk it on the phone!

Just a heads up, scammers from call centres often use social media, emails, and websites to spread fake job adverts or pretend to be genuine businesses. They’ll copy real company names, logos, and details to make their pages, accounts, or messages look real. So watch out for that BE CAREFUL…….. and maybe just pop down to the shop instead.

This number has been ringing me nonstop at work, sometimes up to three times daily. Every time I ring it back, there’s an automated voice saying something about EE trying to reach me. Today, I finally answered and there was loads of noise in the background before some bloke started insulting me and made creepy remarks before I even got a chance to speak, then he just hung up straight away. I’m really puzzled about who this number belongs to.
EE

Watch out for scammers working out of call centres who try to trick you with fake job offers online. They might pretend to be a genuine business by stealing logos, company names, and other details to make their messages or pages look real. Don’t fall for it! Best thing to do is just pop down to the shop in person instead. Stay safe!

I asked why they needed that, but they just said they already had the info and just needed me to "confirm" it, even going as far as giving me a patronising explanation of what confirm means. I told them they hadn’t proved they actually worked for EE, but they just insisted having my info was proof enough. I reminded them most scammers get that info too. Then, as soon as I refused to share anything, they snapped and said they’d hang up if I didn’t cooperate - and sure enough, they put the phone down right after.

Its so annoying having the same calls over and over. Honestly, I prefer pay-as-you-go phones cos they dont track every little thing you do and i feel safer from having my bank details stolen.

I have no clue who’s ringing me if it’s from an unknown number, and there’s no way EE would call from a number like this, so I don’t trust it at all. Seen too many dodgy scammers doing this kinda thing, so I’m just gonna block it.

They’ve been ringing me non stop each day but never leave any voicemail or message to explain. Feels like one of those spammy marketing calls to me.

This number rings me every day, and I’m fed up with EE now. Their customer service is rubbish and more. When I bought a Huawei P19 smartphone, I called customer support and they said they’d send me everything I needed. But it never arrived, so that’s another disappointment from EE. I’m ONLY interested if it’s for a contract!!!

Seems like EE is tryin to push some monthly payment plan instead of the usual PAYG deal. Feels dodgy to me, and not very clever either.

At first, the caller ID just showed numbers but it turned out to be a telemarketer. Later on, the caller ID switched to 'ee'. I wasn’t really sure who it was so I just ended the call and blocked the number.

So, I’ve had this number for half a year now and never had any hassle. But just this past week, I've gotten a couple of dodgy calls from what seem like scammers. Might have to think about switching my number once more, annoying really.

Loads of folks here reckon this number is from Step Change, the free debt advice service linked with EE. I’m not arguing with that since I don’t really know and honestly don’t bother. Whoever’s on the other end is calling out of the blue and in my opinion that makes them a pest. That’s why I’ve labelled it as harassment.

This was defo not a scam call. I had a chat with a bloke yesterday (I’m on EE) who was really helpful and got me set up with a phone. I was a bit anxious all day thinking I might have been caught out after finding this site. But my phone turned up this morning. Proper glad about it!

Had a look on the EE site and this number comes up as Step Change Debt Charity, which is apparently a partner of EE. I blocked it a while back since I’m not keen on switching my pay as you go or whatever they’re trying to push.

Got a call from EE, this woman was talking about switching pay-as-you-go users to contracts. She was quite friendly and polite, nothing pushy. Not a scammy thing at all unlike what I’ve read from others.

I've had a right nuisance with this number, attempting to get in touch with me on three separate occasions across various days. I haven't a clue who they could be, especially as I don't know a soul in Hitchen. They’ve been blocked now, that's for sure!

I really appreciate your help in identifying this number that has been ringing my mobile repeatedly for the past couple of days - three times, to be precise. Since there's no name linked to it, I tend to ignore it unless I can figure out who's behind it. What an excellent service you've provided!

Someone said they worked with EE and wanted to offer me cheaper deals. They asked about my current PAYG plan and even said sorry for the noise in the back. I wasn't interested and told them I'd rather go to an EE store, even tho they kept saying I wouldn't find the better prices there. We ended the call, but after reading other reviews on these sites, I decided to block the number.

Got a call like this from someone claiming to be EE, targeting loyal pay-as-you-go users to check if we're happy with the service. They asked me to verify my last top-up sum and how I paid for "data protection" purposes. When I asked them to give me my last name, they said it wasn’t linked to my account, which is total rubbish. They obviously don’t have any real info, so it's either a scam or just someone who’s done a really bad job researching.

I looked it up myself on Google and it seems like Step Change is a legit company that partners with EE. They tried ringing me earlier but I just let it go to voicemail coz I don't pick up numbers I don't recognise, especially when I can't think why they'd be needing to speak to me directly even tho I'm an EE customer.

01462341328 - total scam alert. Got a call from this number earlier today. My home phone began recording but there was no voice at all. I only share my number with close family and I’m not even with EE. Any real person would say something and ask to speak to someone, so it’s not a wrong number by mistake. Every few months I get these scam calls. They usually ring for a few days but change their numbers and area codes all the time. I’ve made it a rule never to answer calls from numbers I don’t recognise.

Honestly, best thing is to just ignore these calls. They’re often just trying to trick you into giving personal details to use in scams. Don’t trust them, they’re just out to rip people off.
