In brief: A rather intrusive cold caller claimed to represent EE, already had my name and number, and then proceeded to demand my transaction details. Things turned rather hostile when I refused to cooperate. The individual introduced himself as an EE representative and wasted no time in requesting my transactional details with the company. When I expressed my reluctance to divulge such sensitive information, he failed to clarify his intentions and instead insisted he already possessed the data and merely sought my verification-offering a rather patronising explanation of what “confirm” meant. I made it clear that he hadn’t provided any verifying documentation to prove he was truly from EE. He seemed to think that having my name and number was enough to establish his legitimacy. I reminded him that a significant portion of cold callers have access to such information. In a rather abrupt manner, he stated that if I wouldn’t provide the information, he would terminate the call-and that’s exactly what he did.

I really appreciate your help in identifying this number that has been ringing my mobile repeatedly for the past couple of days - three times, to be precise. Since there's no name linked to it, I tend to ignore it unless I can figure out who's behind it. What an excellent service you've provided!

Someone said they worked with EE and wanted to offer me cheaper deals. They asked about my current PAYG plan and even said sorry for the noise in the back. I wasn't interested and told them I'd rather go to an EE store, even tho they kept saying I wouldn't find the better prices there. We ended the call, but after reading other reviews on these sites, I decided to block the number.

Got a call like this from someone claiming to be EE, targeting loyal pay-as-you-go users to check if we're happy with the service. They asked me to verify my last top-up sum and how I paid for "data protection" purposes. When I asked them to give me my last name, they said it wasn’t linked to my account, which is total rubbish. They obviously don’t have any real info, so it's either a scam or just someone who’s done a really bad job researching.

I was asked for the sort code linked to my card, but it seemed rather dodgy. Exercise caution, folks! They even reached out via EE, using the number "105," which is a legitimate EE contact on your device, to verify top-up transactions.

I looked it up myself on Google and it seems like Step Change is a legit company that partners with EE. They tried ringing me earlier but I just let it go to voicemail coz I don't pick up numbers I don't recognise, especially when I can't think why they'd be needing to speak to me directly even tho I'm an EE customer.

01462341328 - total scam alert. Got a call from this number earlier today. My home phone began recording but there was no voice at all. I only share my number with close family and I’m not even with EE. Any real person would say something and ask to speak to someone, so it’s not a wrong number by mistake. Every few months I get these scam calls. They usually ring for a few days but change their numbers and area codes all the time. I’ve made it a rule never to answer calls from numbers I don’t recognise.

Got a call from a dodgy number, some bloke in a call centre chatting about my top up. When I asked him to hold on so I could check it was legit, he just hung up. Don’t be fooled by these scams no matter how friendly they sound. EE already has all your details like your top up and everything.

Said they were from EE, but when I said I wasn’t interested, the kid on the line got really rude and kept telling me to stay on. They ring me like 4 or 5 times every day, it’s proper annoying.

Got a call from this number back in February, but it’s only just resurfaced this week. My phone flagged it as "Possible Scam", so I chose not to pick up. Since I’m on EE, it’s conceivable it could be related to them, but I haven’t got a clue, to be honest.
