Got a call from 01454667540 and the bloke claimed he worked for Openreach. Sounded dodgy to me, so I just told him no thanks and ended the call. He said his name was Sam, had an Asian accent too. Definitely didn't buy it.

Like other folks have said here, I got a call from a woman with an Indian or Asian accent claiming to work for BT Openreach. She told me they were doing maintenance nearby and wanted to know how many lights were on my router and if they were blinking. She then asked me to grab a pen and paper and sit at my laptop so she could check my internet speed. That’s when I cut her off and said I’d reach out to BT directly if I had any issues. Honestly, I don’t get why BT doesn’t block these numbers or stop these shady calls altogether.

Just like the others have said, this guy got really annoyed when I told him I didn’t have any laptop or computer to log into. I ain’t even a BT user, so I suspected it was dodgy right away. If it really was BT, wouldn’t they have sent something by post or an email about changes nearby? Some woman with a heavy accent claimed to be from BT Openreach, saying my router was faulty. I just muted the phone and let her talk forever. After a bit, I replied with an “okay” and she started telling me to switch on my computer. I told her it was already on - not stupid enough to fall for that! She kept asking me to enter some codes which I pretended to do. Then she asked what the screen showed, and I said a picture of a mug. She stammered and said, “we must try again.” Honestly, they’re pretty hopeless. I just left the phone down and eventually she gave up and hung up.

Got a phone call from some bloke who said his name was John Hook, but I could tell he was actually from around the Indian subcontinent. He claimed to be ringing on behalf of BT, saying there were engineers working nearby and that my router was set to a dodgy frequency of 786 which needed fixing. I told him straight away that if there was any trouble, I’d be getting in touch with BT myself, no need for him.

This same phone number has contacted me about four times, saying they’re from BT Open Reach and that they're working on the local exchange. Each call they asked me to get on my computer to adjust my internet speed, saying I’d lose connection if I didn’t do it. The last time they called, I let it go to voicemail, but it showed up as an international number, which is odd because it’s meant to be a Chipping Sodbury area code. Honestly, it's getting really annoying and I feel annoyed and pestered by these calls!!!!

Got a call just after waking up this morning. I usually don’t bother answering those “Hello how are you” type calls, and instead I just leave the phone off the receiver for a bit. Then I noticed a call from the same number while I was out later on. It said there was a voicemail, but when I checked, there was nothing there. Been dealing with this annoying number for over a year now, always saying the same generic thing.
