Lately, this number keeps ringing on my home phone. When I pick up, all I get is loud breathing for a moment or sometimes they just drop the call right away.

THIS IS MY PHONE NUMBER AND FROM WHAT I CAN SEE ON YOUR OWN LIST, THE ISSUE WITH SCAM CALLS FROM OUTSIDE THE UK STOPPED IN MAY 2018. IF YOU DOUBT IT, YOU CAN CONTACT BT AND SPEAK TO THEIR FRAUD DEPARTMENT. I’D REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU COULD TAKE THIS NUMBER OFF YOUR SITE ALONG WITH ANY COMMENTS ABOUT IT AND MAKE IT CLEAR THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM ANYMORE. IF ANYONE WANTS TO CALL ME, THAT'S FINE, BUT THEY’LL NEED TO COMPLETE THE "CALLCHECKER" PROCESS FIRST.

A bloke from London named Harry Williams rang me up, claiming my computer was hacked. I could of just ended the call but decided to mess with him a bit and made him keep repeating himself for a laugh! When he asked what the message on my screen said, I just told him it said SCAM. He then went off on about blocking my computer. And guess what? I'm still here typing this for all of you. Seriously, why do these scammers even bother wasting their time!

I put this number on my block list quite a while ago - they kept going on about my computer being hacked or something. Even after blocking, they kept trying over and over in the days that followed. Most recent tries have been stopped so my phone hasn't rung - my call log shows three tries in just two days, with two coming yesterday just hours apart. Honestly, these callers are proper nuisances, but their tech must be pretty rubbish if they can’t even avoid calling numbers that have blocked them already.

I received a rather dubious call from a chap claiming to represent Microsoft. He insisted that he needed to get into my computer. When I probed him about his location, he answered "Paddington." I politely requested his phone number so I could ring him back. That seemed to ruffle his feathers, because he suddenly claimed my operating system was on the verge of being compromised. As if I’d trust him with that! I told him I’d have a word with my son who’s employed at Microsoft in London to verify his claims. Had a good chuckle and hung up. 😂

01453544400 rang me saying they were from Microsoft, that I've got a virus and all that nonsense. What they didn’t realise is that I work in cyber security and have a dedicated test PC for dealing with these calls. I let them connect remotely without any qualms. Can’t share all the details here, but let’s just say ‘Mr Brown’ will struggle to scam anyone else soon - it’s tough to use a laptop with a bricked hard drive, messed up firmware, and a boot message shouting SCAMMER!!! :-)

I just received a rather suspicious call from this number, with the caller claiming to be from Microsoft. I quickly realised that no legitimate company like Microsoft calls their customers out of the blue, so I told him to shove off. After firmly asking him to leave me alone, he rang me back almost instantly, rambling on as if nothing had happened. What followed was a rather heated exchange where I warned him that I’d report his antics. He then told me to get lost! Quite amusing really, as I was more than happy to return the favour!

They said they knew about some computer issue - so I just told them I needed to turn on my laptop! After a while, they realised they weren’t getting anywhere and just ended the call. At least I wasted some of their time so they couldn’t bother anyone else. It's mad that with all the tech in developed countries, these scams can’t be tracked down and stopped. Whose job is it to deal with this?

Just got a call, my first time dealing with a scammer. It was an Asian lady saying she needed to fix and protect my computer remotely. I told her I work in IT and I’d report them to the police. She got rude and told me to f*** off, then threatened to report me for gambling or something? Proper weird. She claimed she was from Microsoft Corporation or whatever. Some proper mad people out there. Seriously, never let anyone take control of your computer remotely.

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming he was from Microsoft, trying to get into my computer. I just ended the call straight away. They keep ringing me every few weeks, and it’s really getting on my nerves. Next time, I’m not gonna be so nice about it.

I’d like to share my recent close brush with a phone scam that I encountered this morning. A rather convincing chap rang me, claiming that my computer had been hacked and that I risked losing my internet access unless I acted promptly. He presented himself as a representative from Microsoft and urged me to confirm a specific CLS ID number, asserting that only a legitimate caller would know this detail. TRUST ME, IT'S A CON! That CLS ID number is something that’s readily available across many Windows machines. I stumbled across a blog that elucidates this whole scenario brilliantly; I highly recommend giving it a read. These scammers are after your personal details, likely seeking to pilfer your banking information and passwords. Don't let yourself become yet another online casualty! Got a call from this number this morning but I didn’t pick up. I called back hiding my number to find out who it was. Couldn’t really catch what the bloke said though. He did mention that if I thought the call was a mistake, I should ring BT and report it as fraud, or if I wanted to get in touch with them, to use one of their mobile numbers.

I keep getting nuisance calls from overseas that seem to be tricking folks into thinking it's my number. Seriously, could you just put a block on that? I'd rather folks not ring it, as they'll only reach my voicemail!

I received a call from this number, but it went straight to voicemail. I was on the verge of picking up, as it seemed to be a local call (our area code's 01543). It's a bit misleading if you don’t pay close attention! Lately, I've been inundated with calls from numbers that closely resemble ours, which is rather frustrating.

Got a call from an Asian guy with the usual tale. Told him I couldn’t check my computer right then, so we 'talked' for about 10 minutes. After that, I just shoved the phone away from my ear for half an hour to waste their time and hopefully boost their bill. Recently switched from BT to SKY and the annoying calls just won’t stop since then.

Got a call around 11.30am from a woman with an Asian accent, yelling something about my "computer" over a really crackly line. This number has rung me a few times in the past few weeks. Every time, I ask them to take me off their calling list and stop bothering me, but they keep calling anyway.

I've received a couple of calls from this number in recent days, but I chose not to answer. It’s quite alarming how much distress these calls can cause, especially to those who are already in a fragile state. Something ought to be done about this.

The area code says Dursley. Called me around midnight, like 3 times. An Asian gent asking if I’m the person who owns the computer here! What’s really weird is I’ve only had this number a couple of weeks and only family know it! Feels like they must’ve leaked it from EE somehow.

Got a call from a bloke named 'Harry', said he was from Microsoft and wanted to chat about my PC. Didn't have much patience this round and just told him where to stick his call. Normally, I let them waffle on for a good 10 minutes, trying to talk me through switching the computer on!

Got a call about 10 minutes back from an Asian lady saying she’s with Microsoft and that my computer's got a virus. She mentioned she was calling from 3 Paddington, London. Honestly, I couldn’t catch a single word she was saying. Then she went on to say I must have hearing issues. I told her I was just messing with her so she wouldn't scam anyone else. After stringing her along for about 5 minutes, she called me a f###ing b##ch and then just hung up.

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent using a very British name, saying he was from MS. When I mentioned I use Apple gear, he insisted my details showed a Windows computer. What really winds me up is how these scammers manage to spoof their number, making it look like they’re calling from a Gloucestershire area code. How on earth do they manage to get hold of UK area codes when they’re likely half the world away?

12:20 17/04/18 Bristol area. Got another one of them Microsoft scam calls showing up as 'international' on my Panasonic, which is weird cos this number’s actually from Dursley, Glos. The caller had an Asian accent, so I just told em some bad karma’s coming their way for trying to con people out their cash. I’ve blocked the number now, but knowing these lot can fake numbers, they'll just ring from somewhere else next time.

Some muppet pretending to be called Peter rang me. Since I'm an IT security guy, I decided to mess about a bit and waste his time. Once he twigged I was taking the mick, he started swearing and throwing insults at me. Proper funny that. After he hung up, I rang the number back and got an answerphone message. Seems it’s a legit number belonging to an elderly bloke who’s left a message asking callers to report it to BT as spam. Looks like these plonkers are spoofing the number from overseas. I gave BT a shout on 0800 800 150 to report the scam call.

Pretty much like what everyone else said. Some Asian guy claimed to be from Microsoft and said he had to discuss my Microsoft home PC with me.
